  1. Bought a GoldTone micro bass last month and a hipshot d tuner last week from BD. Both experiences were good. When I was being a bit dim over the invoice, Mark called me straight away and sorted it in a very pleasant and professional way. The hipshot was cheaper than the 2nd hand market and arrived pronto. I’ve not had a bad experience yet, but I’ll keep buying stuff until I do. In the interest of research of course..
  2. Interesting, however I’ve met a fair few people who put very little effort in to making themselves tools.
  3. MDP infection rates are up then.
  4. As did many virtuoso bassists. Probably my favourite instrument to listen to (when played well).
  5. Pierre Brock got my attention on this album. Probably defined my finger style and default tone. Couldn’t find live version.
  6. That’s what I thought 😂
  7. I loved these as a youngster. Bought a Thunder 3a because our ‘Enry had one.
  8. Just say no. Worked on Grange Hill or was it byker grove or neighbours and away or Emerdale-Enders?
  9. Its jazz, there are no wrong notes. 🦧
  10. I do find the same. Playing fretless in the dark is less scary than fretted for me too. “Wrong” notes can be slid into “right” ones, and with a bit more top rolled off, slight intonation imperfections can be less noticeable. Whereas I find a wrongly fretted note is more obvious.
  11. No he plays Bass for cods sake.
  12. It sounds like the love child of Elvis Costello and Pauline Black. I’ve Renamed the song “Watching the detectives on my radio”
  13. I had a G&B P bass body on my last fretless P bitsa. Lovely finish and balance.
  14. Unorganised band members. Lazy band members. Band members. Members.
  15. I’ve been looking at suitable couriers to send a classical guitar, in a hard case and box with packing materials inside to France from UK. I’d rather the insurance covered both damage and loss, but can’t seem to find anything for less than £79. Then the buyer will need to pay taxes on value of guitar. Seems a very expensive business. Anyone had good experience of doing this at a more reasonable cost? Thanks for any help. John
  16. Really really don’t need this, but for the price of a used neck you could get a cool guitar for under a ton £!
  17. Maybe this is for repairs and technical? If so please move. However, I’m after an Xtender and need a bit of advice about which model to look for. I’m thinking B2. But it’s for this headstock with Gotoh lollipops in. But I’m not fussed if it’s not a lollipop head on one tuner tbh. Is it literally a case of just measuring everything and seeing which model fits?
  18. Try turning the other cheek. oh and baby oil…
  19. Don’t let that fool you 😂 Chris has ways of getting about
  20. No but I’d love to, just so I could make a video like this. But like others have said, the ‘bone played well is such a great instrument.
  21. Byron bought a guitar stand. Paid quickly and has been very patient waiting for delivery. Good guy to deal with. Thanks
  22. @Chris Stitt Chris bought a line6 110 combo from me. Paid quickly and has been patient whilst waiting for delivery. Nice guy to deal with.
  23. Mike made me buy a fretless bass, not only that he made me pay in instalments, plus he insisted on bringing said bass to my house prior to payment. He is a cruel man! 😂 As usual, a pleasure to deal with! 😎
