  1. Looks an interesting project there Nik! Love that bridge! 😎 Might be interested, although shouldn’t be, but I’m a sucker for projects. But it would have to be posted, so maybe see if someone can get it in person first? What are the issues with the electrics? Hope you’re keeping well? John
  2. Shame Billy Bragg’s Jail Guitar Doors isn’t still going, these would be perfect.
  3. Have no room for this beast of a cab, so if you can pick it up (literally) it’s yours. Dimensions are H: 68cm D 50 W: 62cm Driver is an SLM 86-013-04 Speaker 15'' 4OHM CAST FRAME used in Ampeg cabs.
  4. Badass ii bridge. Not required as I have a 3D bridge I prefer to use. Working and with Allen key for saddle height adjustment. Weird double notch on D string saddle, but works fine as you can Thanks John
  5. Latest bitsa. G&B Ash body, SD vintage P, 42mm nut width neck. “Finder” decal (all my bitsas have one of those).
  6. Ah was that in Portsmouth or Plymouth somewhere? I was watching it, but had no way of getting to it. Good find for no money and a good cause. 😎👍🏻
  7. Brilliant description of the difference. Should be pinned? Thanks @BigRedX
  8. Need to clear some space!! £70 for this lot. Plus a 1x15 4ohm 250 watt Peavey cab thrown (lol) in for free. Vintage 80s Chushin Gaki Double Eagle El Maya Japan Laminated P Bass Body. Bought as part of a fretless bitsa from young Beedster of this ‘ere den of iniquity. Samick neck, with good quality Machineheads and bridge. Body has got various dings and scratches and there’s a crack in the lacquer by the strap pin, it’s not in the wood itself. Neck is in very good order. Nice little project to finish off with very easy Pickup and harness fitting. Any questions please ask.
  9. Enjoyed my Squier VI, here’s mine with the Hollywood Killers a few years back. A very useful mod was to get some “barrels” manufactured so the bridge sat snug in the body, with full contact. This stopped unwanted overtones. Very flexible instrument in itself. Although I wouldn’t want to play a whole set with one, as BRX stated, the string spacing is narrow.
  10. I see you’ve been combing for puns….not exactly been bumbling along now have you?
  11. Haha. Blue Moves is my favourite EJ album (always felt guilty about that, given that Dee Murray set me on the bass path), but then I always seem to gravitate towards music that no one else likes 😂. Interesting interview with KP describing recording Rock of The Westies. He only played fretless on 3 tracks as G Dudgeon didn’t like the tone and was used to DM’s sound, so he had to borrow an old bass which had terrible action, but gave the producer the sound he was after. Blue Moves is all fretless, the album where the band were more in control, and the rhythm section/guitar and keys were recorded live. If you want to geek out, here’s the interview link https://www.classicrockhistory.com/an-interview-with-legendary-bassist-kenny-passarelli/
  12. Omg!! The other KP fan! Love “Feed me” on that album. He hits the 1 with such authority and groove. Blue Moves is my favourite EJ album and KP just pumps that LP along like a blacksmith on speed. Seeing him play influenced my choice of bass, tone and style of playing definitely. Rarely here him mentioned here, but a monster player. You made my day, I’m off to listen to “One horse town” and grin like I’ve just peed the first pee of the day.
  13. Good post, ref what’s important to us. I spend more money on white goods (Washing machine, fridges, etc) than most of my peers, some of who earn more than I ever will. I’m sad, I know. Certainly spend more on a dishwasher than any bit of musical kit I’ve ever owned. I know, I know,… a cheaper washing machine will get my skid marks out! 💩
  14. I understand the sentiment about guilt or (possibly) “imposter syndrome”. But ultimately if you like something, it’s affordable to you, and you’re not harming others by your choices, then why not? I wouldn’t, but I’m stuck with a poverty “make do” mentality that refuses to spend over £500 on an instrument or piece of back line even if I could afford to spend more. I’m probably missing out. It’s not based on reverse snobbery, or sending low expectations to others. Just an upbringing that’s hard to shake off. 😎👍🏻
  15. My own skewed view on this subject is, “if you like wearing fluorescent orange rugby boots on a Sunday morning down the local rec, it helps if you’re either built like Joe Maler, or can run faster than Joe Maler”
  16. Thanks peeps. Just had a “purge”😊
  17. No, thanks for the tip. I’ll take a look
  18. Trying to upload some pictures but I get notifications that the files are too big. (A dog on a beach) I’ve gone through my messages and deleted a load that are no longer relevant. Then went to edit my old FS threads to remove pictures, but they’re all locked (understandably). Any suggestions or fixes plz? Pictures of dogs are held in as high esteem as images of Jamersons legendary wide necked 7 string guitar conversion with the quirky ergonomic Machinehead positioning. So please help.
  19. Guitarist in a band I played in (1975-6) had a Jedson Les Paul, like this one. Lovely neck and felt great to play, good quality. Up to then I’d only seen cheap Tele shaped Jedsons, so was pleasantly surprised by his.
  20. I did once. Nasty business. But the magistrate let me off with a warning. 😵
  21. Forgot I had this. It’s new unused still in its unopened packet, unused screws too. But does not come with the bush/ferrule thingy. £5 posted
  22. Mine get bigger saggier with age.
