  1. Oh for goodness sake Chris!!!! How am I supposed to make reasonable decisions with you posting things like this here??? Mmm?? PM’d
  2. Sorry to hear of your stroke and that you can’t play anymore. Looks a cool bass for not a lot of money. GLWTS John
  3. Ooh ooh do tell! I’ve been in touch with the chaps regarding the Weller fretless you signposted. Be interested in how you get on with your purchase! I’ve continued to buy via Thomann and had no issues with delays, but not bought anything over £200. Anyhoo enjoy your new purchase young man 😎
  4. Are you considering buying what I’m considering buying @NikNik😊
  5. 6 strings for those of us in Somerset
  6. Taking BigRedX advice, it’s looking like roughly £450 should cover things. Found this online calculator https://www.simplyduty.com/import-calculator/
  7. Haha not talking about you Mike! Not helping my GAS 😂
  8. Just seen this. Really not helpful! In fact I’ve contacted them to ask about import duty costs. Neck through, Kent Armstrong pups, Grover tuners. Very tempting
  9. Hello! I find the neck profile, nut width and string spacing on these old Korean basses perfect for a 5 string. However the electrics and pups are underwhelming to my ears. So am modding one (including a defret) I’ve recently acquired. What say you, the BC massive? Pickups: My favourite pups are Bartolinis, so likely to replace with some Barts. Will require some widening of cavities as I believe the factory pups are 4 string’ers. Pre amp: My initial thought was for a “drop in” P Retro, but I would need to add a blend pot or switch. Don’t want to spend a fortune, maybe £300 on the parts? Here’s a stock pic:
  10. I should have been clearer, I’m after a P neck with unlined maple board. Not a fingerboard to fit onto an existing neck. Cheers 😎
  11. Other than getting one made by one of the many excellent uk Luthiers, I’m having difficulties sourcing one off the shelf. Seems rosewood and ebony are readily available, but not maple boards. Found a Chinese based eBay seller, but never having bought direct I have no idea of quality and what import expenses will be added. 😤😩😭
  12. So, I ordered and paid for a 6 string bass on New Year’s Eve and received it yesterday. So is that just “making it” before the deadline, or epic early fail? If the former, then I’m in!
  13. Might be a Jaydee owners Facebook community? Worth putting a plea out there? I guess pass on as much info as you’ve got and you’re happy divulging. I sold a mid 70’s Fender precision fretless for peanuts to a music exchange shop in Notting hill to pay rent back in 1988. That bass got me a lot of work back then, and I miss it every day. Unlikely to ever afford to replace it now. Good luck with your search.
  14. His brother Windy was very good in that TV series. Trumped his sibling by some margin, imho
  15. Out of context with the artist/song, I wouldn’t have a clue. I’m impressed that anyone could.
  16. I stayed in touch with Thumper after his Finnbass demise.
  17. Yes Nigel(??) did like a spat, although I didn’t mind his confrontational approach. Waynepunkdude is the only member I’ve had a keyboard confrontation with here though. Spurs fan, so that’s probably why. 😂
  18. Seems only fair, given that BE owned every bass player 😂
  19. No worries B. I will measure later, if different I’ll let you know.
