  1. Have been thinking the same, but decided to just get furniture, electrics, heating and light up to the building, but not store anything. I’d be too worried all the time. We have a Rottweiler, but she’s likely to “cute” an assailant into submission currently, things will change in a few months mind. Is the building near to the main house? That is a factor.
  2. Love the jazz Tele.
  3. Thanks @Richard R it’s all good mate. 😊
  4. Some lovely videos peeps have posted here, it does my head in how people put these things together. CCW industry is exactly that, it’s no different from mainstream industry, in that it’s about shifting a product and creating a desire for more of the same. I was involved in CCW in the 80’s-90’s and saw a huge change in direction from considered and skilled songwriting, to the emphasis on production, to sell a product. I haven’t been to a church meeting/service for years now, not because of a falling out with anyone, just a shift in my belief system. But I wish church musicians were encouraged to study the great writers like Lennon/McCartney, C Porter, Paul Simon, H Carmichael, etc who could write a song with prosody and arrangement that was challenging for the musician to play, but appealed to the masses who could sing along. Anyway, sorry to derail what is an encouraging thread for church bassists. Ignore me, who? 😊
  5. These usually have 2 J’s despite being a P model (presumably because of the body) But as you said Mick, it’s really hard to see if the bridge pup is there. I had one many years ago, great bass for the money.
  6. 😊🥸 I’m 60 in 2 months time and been putting off growing up for as long as I can get away with it!
  7. Not trying hard enough, are we 😂😂
  8. Well thanks for that! I’ve just found 3 things I want to buy and the sales room isn’t far from me. 😂
  9. Woah there, isn’t that how all these diseases start?
  10. We live in a semi detached property. Our attached neighbour bought his house 4.5 years ago, coming every weekend to do major work on what was a run down Victorian home with a lot of work needed. I was happy to have a set of keys so I could let trades people in during the week before going to work myself, as he lived a fair distance away. Problem was that every weekend he came over to work in the house, so we had to listen to drilling, floor sanding, hammering, on the days we were at home relaxing. It was torture as we never knew when it would start or finish, it wound me up badly at times. He’s a nice enough fella though, so I asked if he could just let us know when he was going to be doing any work that would likely involve prolonged and excessive noise, and for how long. This was a game changer, as I knew when to expect it and could plan my day around this, so I felt I had an element of control and choice. Funnily enough he and his girlfriend have moved in, and they’re quiet as mice, but he did ask whether I could hear his stereo the other day. I could, but thought it was his washing machine! So, I’m basically saying what the others have suggested. But from the perspective of the neighbour. Talk to them and come to an agreed arrangement? Having said that, you might be moving next to a drummer! 😲
  11. I caught something off a famous singers backing vocalist once back in the early 80’s (.77mm I reckon ) , I don’t have them anymore does that count?
  12. Level 42 at Hammy Odeon. Sorry, I know, sacrilege. Great musicians, but it all sounded the same to me.
  13. Why is there not a heart ❤️ reaction, or a “just did a little wee” reaction? Beauty!
  14. It’s a bit busy, but where it’s played and the syncopation seems suited 😊
  15. I’m enjoying SA channel. Love the Brian Johnson interviews, in particular the Mark Knopfler one. He seemed genuinely moved reminiscing about their musical and cultural influences. Recording the songwriter series too.
  16. Take out the fuzz, slow it right down and it’d sound great in a reggae. 😊
  17. Aloo Mick.
