Not difficult in my case 🥳 cheerz

Have I missed something here? I was pretty impressed by his capacity to listen and hear parts, and to log the form and breaks of a reasonably complex piece, in one listen then lay down his own interpretation pretty much on point. What are the reasons for people’s indifference to this? Genuinely interested. I’m getting the feeling I’m just easily impressed 😂

On my watch list.

Thanks for sharing that. Really enjoyed it. He gives the most profound and yet simple advise to ALL musicians.... “Listen” -to what else is being played. -to lots of different genres to have more options at your disposal. And Practice.

It’s ok Stew, couldn’t think of a better fella to see your bass over the last line. Have to say it’s been great seeing the relay develop. 😎 -

As a result, Paradoral activity is kept to a minimum.

Looks like a Grabber had a fling with a Thunder 3a and these were the result. -
What's your fantasy Lotto jackpot bass gear shopping list?

I’d hire someone to track down the 79 fretless P I owned in the mid 80’s, then throw £50 notes at the current owner until they let it go. I’d also buy my weight in chocolate cake, and double my weight. Repeating this process until I explode. 2nd best way to die. -

That’s a pretty ropey lacquer job on the headstock. Must have sniffed the can beforehand.

One of my brothers taught me “all right now” bass solo on his battered old acoustic guitar. It was 1970, I was 9, and hooked on bass from that moment. Subsequently realised (some years later) he was playing it wrong....but whatever.

Happy anniversary Andy. Make the most of every moment. My youngest is 25 this year, she’s stuck up in Edinburgh and we haven’t seen her for 11 months (FaceTime isn’t the same as a hug). But I remember the moment she was born like yesterday, and it’s flown by. Happy birthday Ella, your dad really does love you more than his basses. 😊

I don’t know the actual circumstances, but some sellers point blank refuse to courier or have anything to package it in. Some people on here are more than happy to help a fellow member out if they can. No stress. -
Sold It’s a Double bass stand. Probably has many other functions I’m sure , but I’ve only used it to stand a double bass on. It is adjustable and has a hook for a bow, but don’t go thinking you can’t use the hook for a hat or a coat, or a pipe or your corona mask perhaps? I would prefer this was collected from Bath or surrounds. But for a fiver I could probably find something to post it in. Here are some pictures of it holding an old bass with the much lauded and very expensive “Air A string” fitted.

Maybe.....😋🤫

How much music do you actually listen to?
oldslapper replied to TheGreek's topic in General Discussion
This! ☝🏻 I have to put time aside to listen to music. I cannot concentrate on anything else if music is on, work, reading, conversations. I can’t listen to music to go to sleep to as I’m thinking about what I’ve listened to, it actually stimulates my brain rather than relaxes it. I don’t listen to it in the car either. I get completely absorbed by what’s going on, production, lyrics, structure, instrumentation, harmony, melody, everything. It’s not helpful in social situations. I wish I could ignore it when it’s on, or just enjoy it in the background, but I can’t. You’re the first person I’ve heard describe the same thing. Radio is usually speech, news and sport. Thankfully my kids enjoy music all the time, so they’re not plums like their old man. -
I will try phoning later. However, I emailed the suggested service email address with no reply, so forwarded the email to the uk sales address and the name of the sales person. The sales department replied straightaway stating they would forward the message to the correct dept (which happens to be the service department I’d originally messaged!) Disappointing that sales are quick to reply, service is silent. Oh well.
