  1. Only if you’re wearing it at the time please.
  2. Sharpie on the headstock = + £££‘S 🤑
  3. I bought a bass. It was ok, but for the money it was good. Sold it within a month or so. But I bought a classical at the same time, it was superb value for money. Really well made, cut away body, sounded great and after a quick set up with new strings and lowering the saddle, played very well. Kept that for about 4-5 years. Gave it away in the end as I bought a higher end Yamaha. I’d buy another in a heartbeat, but can’t find one anywhere.
  4. First time I’ve listened to any IM. Listening on headphones, I didn’t think his “clank” was unpleasant. I find CS’s “clank” too much, but he played a ClankStick and was his sig sound. A couple of things I was surprised at though: It’s quite unusual to me to see 3 guitarists all playing Strats, usually one will have a LP or some kind of pointy headstock, no? I found myself holding my breath listening to the singer, thinking “breath you bugger, breath”, bit like when I watch someone struggling underwater in a film. I’m off to do some Air Lunges. Thanks for posting.
  5. Pierre Brock. Loved his playing with Robert Palmer. He did a bit with some outfit called Gibson Brothers, but no idea of what he did since. His playing on “Woman you’re wonderful” is fab.
  6. Presumably designed and knocked up on a Friday afternoon by the eminent Welsh pugilist Percy Jones? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254600687204
  7. Technique “rights and wrongs” have been long argued here and elsewhere. When I was a tutor, I did introduce certain left and right hand positions for new starters. This was generally to help efficiency of movement and to hopefully avoid muscular or skeletal issues later on. However, it didn’t over bother me if someone had “unique” and entrenched hand or finger positioning, it was the students choice after all. If they were developing their musical palette, achieving the goals that motivated them and were enjoying playing the instrument, then fab! CS’s thumb has probably been in all sorts of positions, and good on it, I say. I wouldn’t have told him where to shove it.
  8. A gentleman never reveals where his thumb has been placed. I do love it when iconic/influential musicians don’t have much clue about the gear they use or theory, (in the same detail) as perhaps less well known keeners. It appears less important somehow? 😂
  9. Is his bass short scale? The neck looks er..short..😊 or was CS particularly large?
  10. I went to spocsuvers now my eys are mugh butter.
  11. I’ve noticed that my leather strap needs more cleaning after a gig than my basses (which gets a wipe down). If I leave it in the case then it gets nasty 😷 But I’m not as clean as you Rob, you must smell lovely 😊
  12. There’s enough Cummings and goings on here as it is Mickey.
  13. Oi you! Yes you in Rotherham, East Heringthorpe! Turn the low mids down if you can’t afford a headphone amp. I can hear it from here. Btw I hope you’re better since i heard you falling down the stairs... ....oh ...a slap solo. Well you deserved everything you get. Now turn DOWN!!
  14. Anyone in Newington area practicing in their flat...please stop, or get some headphones.
  15. “Precision” takes more sharpies to write on the smaller end...(the bit with the metal twisting things on it), so it’s probably balances out in the end? Just a thought...
  16. Your welcome. With the lockdown I haven’t been able to get to the guy who normally does set ups for me. So your channel has been even more valuable. Followed the restring tutorial to the letter with my phone in front of me, and I even surprised myself. Great tip about using the bed btw. John
