  1. I’m guessing few people have heard of Deke Leonard. And although I’d much prefer to have heard his interesting and amusing anecdotes, sadly the general public will presumably be more interested in Noel Gallagher’s cliches, told in his oh so interesting and intelligent manner. The nucklehead (or whatever) wot was sat with him, reminded me of the classic moron who appears from behind the bully waving a fist whilst saying “yeah”. Anyways, I enjoyed it for what it was. And brought back some happy memories.
  2. That, Nick, would be a lovely partner to my PJ. Beautiful, and much prefer the board on yours to the (pau ferro?) MM 5’er I had. GLWTS
  3. One of them’s a jazz bass? 🤞
  4. Got some vague memories of jamming with members of Hawkwind and Teardrop Explodes there, after bumping into them in a local hostelry. My band were at the rehearsal studio bit for the weekend. One of Hawkwind had locked himself in the studio as I recall. It was the early 80’s, so my mullet would have been present to witness the whole chemically enhanced debacle.
  5. So do I. Great musician, seems like a nice person & cool as anything. I have a sad and creepy crush on Ms Spalding too. 🤓
  6. I didn’t see that at the time, could have been an edit? Maybe someone got in touch?
  7. List of infractions Ms Dorsey incurred. - Serves the song? Pah! - Plays the model of bass the BL wants and doesn’t jack the gig in? - Needs lines on a fretless? - Learns the songs and Writes out charts in several keys “just in case”? - Works at getting as close a tone as the original bass recording? - Isn’t quite sure how active basses work? - Plays the clarinet? - Doesn’t really do slap???!!! Seryasslee who’d hire someone like that? Should’ve been me, I’d’ve shown Bowie/Kravitz my chops on whatever bass I want, so there nerr! Isn't she just fab 😠😤😡 yours, bitter of Bath.
  8. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224081591259 Fender’s decal application standards were particularly shoddy that week.
  9. I believe it refers to a trombone player. However......your decision to refrain from the google search is probably a wise choice.
  10. Dudley Moore. Roger Moore. Bodmin Moor. Lewis no Moooor. Do you want more Moore or less?
  11. No plans to go up north, but if it helps in any small way, I live and work in central Bath. So if logistics mean that a potential “relay racer” is passing by Bath at a time not convenient to you Stew, I’ll happily meet them and hold the item for you. Getting it to Norton isn’t a problem after that. All the above done with masks, gloves and hand sanitiser of course.
  12. No. Straight to Disenbowelment.
  13. Ssshhhh! , it may be a spoof 👀
  14. Ampeg Portabass 2x12 cab with New Celestion drivers. Bought this to match my Portabass amp. Unfortunately the drivers were awful. Sounded like 2 wasps shagging in a biscuit tin (and I should know). Apparently this was due to the original neo drivers not having passed QA by Ampeg engineers, but the marketing dept had already started the promotional show, and won the battle with the designers. Sadly this meant that the Portabass range didn’t last. Which is a shame as the head is a peach. The amp tech I use was drooling over the circuitry when I asked him to give the amp a “once over” and service anything that needed sorting out. And it sounds gert lush, that ain’t going nowhere. So I asked our band tech to look at replacing the speakers. So it now has 2 Celestion BL12 200 4ohm ferrite drivers wired in series, so it’s an 8ohm cab. I wanted that so I could add another 8 ohm cab if and when. It sounds lovely and warm, and has not been out of the house since I bought it 6-7 months ago, so drivers are not played in, at all. The tweeter dial turns, but I can’t hear any discernible difference. It’s in place and wired in, so could be my hearing, or it doesn’t work? I never use them, or disconnect them with all cabs I have bought. So made no difference to me. The cover is a little tatty in places, and the wheels/handle contraption had been removed when I bought it. But the 2 handles are more than enough to carry it. And it’s surprisingly light imho. Wifey moves it around and she ain’t Geoff Capes, I’ve checked, she’s not, definitely. Its construction is out of Italian poplar plywood Dimensions: 27.5 x 17 x 15.5 in. Original weight 38lbs I have a 1x12 cab that will meet my needs as I don’t intend gigging anything other than an occasional DB gig, when that happens? I am really after a trade for a fretted P bass type of thing of an equivalent value, although cash is fine. Sorry won’t courier (yes, yes I know) but will meet up as far as an hours’ drive, or you can come and pick it up in Bath. (A car would be better, but a bath will be big enough to put the cab in). Enough of this silliness. Any questions? No? Good! Move on. Thanks John
  15. You know...yeah, it’s like, you know..love Bootsy too
  16. Looks great Stew. I’m assuming you’re after money rather than trades?
  17. Nice, but I Prefer the white chocolate myself. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  18. Looks nice. Interesting patterns. (Although I hate it when builders put fingerboard fret markers in the middle of the “fret” on a fretless?)
  19. Yes, this unfortunate manufacturer’s logo bottle top houses a transducer mic, for acoustic instruments. Working order, except adhesive missing (I used gaffa tape). Got it for my Tea Chest bass. I’ll include a jack cable. Handover (using whichever govt guidelines are being currently ignored by govt officials and general public that week) or postage (included).

  20. There were a couple of genuine laugh out loud moments for me (including the “mobile studio”). But overall the programme was probably longer than necessary.
  21. Use it for country music only?
  22. Don’t reckon they owned any ships either. Mind you, if you’re going to be lied to, then it might as well be by Scott. He could sing the Yellow Pages and make it sound wonderful. In fact he did once, took a while before he got to the number I wanted, but it was worth it. Sadly the guitar “restorer” I was after didn’t answer. 🤡
  23. Actually, I’ve decided to buy one in the uk, but spend 3 times the amount for it https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/193546385183
  24. Just put one in my “shopping basket”. Can’t do any harm there can it? It’s not like I’ve bought one or anything? Just in the basket, sitting there safe and sound from slappy’s grasp 😌
