  1. Really enjoyed that. Not heard anyone break down something that complex in such an accessible way. Loved: His enthusiasm, his humility (“I don’t have the chops”), his knowledge and communication skills. I’m sure there are many youtubers who have “the chops” and post this, or similarly diifikult choons, note for note but, don’t communicate as well as this gentleman. Thanks for sharing, I’ve subscribed to his YT channel.
  2. Did the Zyex light set sell? Scrap that, search shows they sold and sold again 😂. Cheers
  3. It’s a language isn’t it? From what I understand. The sound of Tabla is an all time favourite of mine. Thanks for sharing.
  4. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 it’s alright I suppose 🤪
  5. Then you’d have to set up a charity Dave, and do an appeal on TV. Then we’d all contribute and become destitute ourselves. It never ends!
  6. Thoroughly enjoyed that, thank you. Love old muso stories, my favourite kind of interview. Probably not for gear heads 😊
  7. SOLD Anyway, it is a lovely guitar, the piezo is lovely too and I had thought about removing it and fitting to my new parlour, but left it in. It needed a lot of cleaning up when I bought it, and it needs a new saddle, but plays absolutely fine as is. New Martin strings fitted last week. Comes in hard case, so can post as I have a box and packing material. Ideally I’d like a swap for an electric of equivalent value. Tele/Strat/LP shape or what have you? Maybe a cheap bass? I’m in Bath, you’re welcome to a SD handover/exchange. Any questions, please ask.
  8. The subtle differences in slap technique in one short tutorial I prefer the second demonstration.
  9. I have a blue flower Tele, a pink paisley 51 reissue P bass and green vintnera P on my eBay watch list. Normally plain wood P’s for me. I think you may have stumbled on an unexpected side effect. I wonder if I can use it to justify buying the above “sorry love, it’s a medical condition”, (although the judge said I can’t use that sentence anymore...)
  10. I believe this is an early model? Mk1 perhaps? Bought it here sometime in 2019. Anyways it’s very nice and natural sounding. To my ears anyway. Got something new our tech has made for me, which includes a buffer system with volume control, so this is spare. £50 posted, or socially responsibly handed over outside my front door. No tea and biscuits I’m afraid.😳 John
  11. My aforementioned Washburn had “buzz feiten” on the headstock. I assumed it was something to do with the nut.
  12. I had a lovely Washburn acoustic that had it. There was not even the slightest feint of buzz and it stayed in tune, so I assumed it worked as described. The luthier chap who did my set ups tried to explain it to me, but I glazed over at approximately 3.5 seconds in.
  13. Always been intrigued by these instruments. But you’re right @pedwe don’t want this to turn into a Marcos Del Felipez thread (of which I admit to often being a protagonist). GLWTS
  14. I have asked sellers to slacken TR tension before sending a bass to me, if the neck wasn’t able to be removed. Probably over cautious, but in my head I feel happier that neck tension is one less stress on the bass in transit. No science to back it up, just my anxiety levels.
  15. He’s hardly Donal MacIntyre, but presumably thinks he is some kind of investigative journalist. Give some people a camera and WiFi 🙄 Just get in touch with the company, and if they don’t sort it, then go to the press. Unless your need to be “looked at” outweighs your moral outrage of course.
  16. If you can wait (then first off you’re a better person than I) until after lockdown, then if possible visit retailers, even better with a trusted bass playing buddy, and try a load.
  17. A band is for life not just for Christmas 😂
  18. Great attention given to the description. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  19. I think we tend to hear more horror stories than “no incident” accounts to be fair. It’s likely that most pub gigs go without incident, but that’s not much of a story is it? Dependent on the reputation of the pub in question of course, but I’ve seen as many fights, stooopid behaviour at weddings/club gigs as pub gigs. Alcohol + human can equal @resehole, geography isn’t the issue. At least with most pub gigs you’re likely to finish at 11:00-12:00, but with less pay. As opposed to function gig that may pay better, but often finish later. Maybe try a couple of gigs, see how it goes?
  20. I’ll take the match if you decide to part out (if someone just wants the keyboard). 🤓
