  1. I like both flats and rounds. My preferred rounds on a P are Ernie ball nickels. Smooth to touch but still a bit of grit.
  2. So I guess your (or someone else’s) mass purchase distorts the market? I’m not phased by this, although the high numbers available could compress the price. Perhaps delaying selling or buying so many would have an effect. My theory is a bit loopy, and echoes previous comments however. Sorry
  3. Or all the lead singers and guitarists you could have ejected at high speed...🥴
  4. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F293035009012 Too soon? 🤦🏻‍♂️
  5. I don’t mind so much if a song starts too fast or too slow, it’s not great, but it’s better than my pet hate of a drummer slowing down gradually through a song. Not the deliberate act of correcting tempo and maintains it, but usually due to a lack of concentration, boredom or stamina, unacceptable! 🤬
  6. Just need to jiggle a few coins around first (kids at university means every penny is counted by the “accountant” 😆) I know you’re a fan too! So in the meantime if you or anyone else is able to jump on it, go for it man! 😎 I’m notoriously a ditherer.
  7. Maybe I should just buy it and put a request out to the general Bc population.
  8. Blimey. If someone was prepared to pick that up and meet half way to Bath they can have the cab for their trouble! £100 for the head, still seems a good price! 😮
  9. Sorry dude. 😊 If I did get inked I really have no idea what I’d get done. Unlikely to be a bass guitar image though, although a double bass or a bass clef tatt could be tempting.
  10. I do have tats but, as I’m not from Glasgow, I call them moobs! 🤪 In all seriousness, this was a google image. I don’t have any tattoos, and at 58 I think the only meaningful bit of ink now would be my address.
  11. I got a tattoo of the first bass I bought when I joined BC, then overwritten with each replacement, here’s the result.
  12. 6’4” 18 st My double bass is the only band mate I see eye to eye with.
  13. Maybe try writing on a different instrument than you would normally do? What’s your “go to method”. Lyrics first? Riff/chord patterns first? Try changing stuff around. Read some different literature to get inspired for a story/theme? I feel your frustration but changing my normal MO tends to “prime the pump”. Hope you find your flow soon?
  14. Yup. My old Jazz quartet this was the one that got the wall flowers up! We did a wedding where this was the bride and grooms first dance! Sod your boy band crap, let’s go ape!
  15. I thought the title was referring to a new Supergroup you’d discovered Stew. or a recommended solicitors?
  16. Guitarists reviewing basses is as insightful as Clarkson writing the forward in Greta Thunberg’s biography. 🙄
  17. As a 10-11 year old listening to my older brothers early Elton John LP’s, Dee Murray‘s playing made me want to play bass, then Kenny Passarelli (I still hear him in my playing today) got me into fretless. Percy Jones influenced my technique and love of fretless a little further, although I wasn’t particularly into jazz rock.
  18. http://www.emismusic.co.uk/?LMCL=wh198E If you can get to Bristol, this guy is well regarded.
  19. Depends... if it was a Phillips light bulb, it would have been changed for no obvious reason already.. IBTL 🤪
  20. What scale are these? Love the look, so cool.
  21. My experience of him via eBay was interesting. He asked a question about a bass neck I had listed. He stated that he was asking because he had experience of being ripped off by dubious sellers. I’m sure Mr P has replied to previous threads commenting on his work. And from memory he held his own, and stood up for himself.
