    Hope and Anchor last night with The Psychodahlias. Good support from Fuzzy Head, reminded me of The Damned, brilliant! Not the best venue for a 7 piece but nice to be back at a place I haven’t played since the early 80’s. Finished our set at 11:00, got home 4:00. 🙄

    Rock n Roll Pt 1&2 was the first record I bought, and I still love it to this day. Goldfrapp’s Ooh LaLa has a similar vibe with that lovely shuffle. I won’t be watching the TV programme however as it feels a bit voyeuristic to me. OVMD of course.

    Great little 2 channel 35 watt acoustic amp from TE. It’s got a slider to blend 2 channels if needed, I’ve also got a Jack to XLR adapter I’ll include so you can use one of the channels with a mic. Comes with a unique custom dust cover... Recently electrical tested and passed. I don’t do much/any acoustic 6 string or mandolin gigs anymore, so it’s taking up space. Collection from Bath, or can meet up within reasonable pre-agreed distance.

    In my quest to find the “sound in my head” (silly I know) from my OLP TL 5’er I’ve gone through an Audere 3 band and a Nordstrand 2 band MM preamps. Both excellent bits of kit, but just didn’t scratch my itch. As a last shot, I bought a new Stinger from Retrovibe. And as David is 15 minutes down the road from me, I thought I’d see if he could fit it for me. Went on Thursday, bass and Stinger in hand along with the fitting fee. Picked it up yesterday and, there it was, the sound I had in my head. Fat finger funky, and zingy enough for a bit o’ cheeky 80’s slap. David @Bassbadger is a thoroughly lovely chap, and even let me have a go on his rather groovy orange violin bass.

    RH750 Amp £325 or Trade for Markbass Head Versatile head with 3 programmable presets. Great condition. Tube tone and compression along with the 4 band eq make this an incredibly versatile tool. Comes with Maximum hard waterproof case. So could post. These Max cases are excellent for amps and aren’t cheap.     Nordstrands take on the Pre EB 2 band preamp. As with the original design, the 2B-MM’s bass control only boosts and the treble boosts and cuts, but has no center detent. Comes with a stiff wire that I assume was to help with earthing(?), but I desoldered it as it was too stiff to manipulate to fit the control plate. Will come with new unconnected battery clip and wires. £50 posted.
