If only being in a band was just about playing music. Introduce people into the mix and it can get:- - Complicated - Interesting - Wonderful - Frustrating - Enriching - Painful - Challenging - Costly - Annoying - The best thing - The worst thing 🤪 I think it’s good to have different musical experiences, it should mean you bring something fresh to the “regular” band.

Always felt he took his Orange artist deal a bit far.

Mine’s been fine so far. My lawyer has advised that I shouldn’t comment on the possible longevity of yours, (or anyone else’s) stand. 🤥

Had same problem, and there was a thread on here about it a while back. Hercules were brilliant and I got a new one for half price as a result of sending some pictures to them. The new ones don’t have that rubber on the mechanism anymore thankfully.

I had to back out of a sale on here once. A few years ago. I agreed to sell one of 2 identical cabs I had, as I generally only used one of them regularly and wanted to free up some cash for a double bass repair. Agreed with purchaser to meet up in 8 days time (no money had been exchanged, it was going to be cash on collection). 2 days (note 2 days) after the agreement my gigging cab stopped working mid gig. I couldn’t find the fault but “spare cab” worked fine when I got home. I had another gig the following week. I contacted the other party immediately (5 days before agreed meet up...note, 5 days before)..to regretfully back out of the arrangement as I needed the other cab until I could afford a repair. Apologised profusely and told him how I understood this would be disappointing for him, etc. The other party went mad...sent me threatening messages, contacted mods here to complain of my atrocious behaviour. Then posted on here how angry he was that he had been seriously let down by me, as I had messaged him just as he was about to leave home to pick up the cab! Was he walking? Backwards? Blindfolded? On his hands and knees? ( it was a 45 minute drive). He obviously garnered much support and righteous anger in support of his awful plight. I didn’t bother responding as the poor knob probably hadn’t had a poo for a few days and this had affected his ability to judge time or plan journeys. The abusive messages stopped when I informed him of my job. Suffice to say when I got the cab fixed I didn’t offer it to the constipated one. There are times when circumstances change, and it sounds like you would have been more understanding Dave, if the seller had communicated more effectively? Sadly there are some people you can be as open and honest with but it makes no odds....they’re still not gonna be able to poo. 🤪 -

So if anyone finds a P pup cover in the garden (whilst burying the evidence), or nicks one off an art installation, please let me know. I have quinoa tokens waiting!

Good point! Thanks 🙂 Mods, can this be transposed please? Thanks

don’t think so much about the chords, but rather the interval. The diatonic chord chart is a good starting place.

Quite literally a pup cover

I have always played where the strings are exposed (between both covers) so they’ve never got in the way for me. Horses for courses of course.

Funny thing is I feel very different with thumb rests/tug bars. They come off straight away. 😆 I’ve got a few somewhere.

I could direct some of you to the wanted section..... but that might be illegal... so I won’t. 😎

Having read a few threads here which mention pick up and bridge covers, it would appear that there’s a lot of peeps that hate them. Lots of “first thing I do is take em off”, “stoopid things get in the way”, “pointless nonsense”, etc. I have to shamefully admit to being a fan, I loves em I does, especially on a P. I play guitar sometimes, which may explain my somewhat watered down attitude towards all things bass. My question is then, where have all these discarded covers gone? Is there a European “chrome cover” mountain somewhere? Have they all been melted down and turned into suits of armour? I’ve been after a set for my PJ for ages, but can’t find a used set anywhere. So suggestions below please: Where have all the covers gone? 🤯 Slappy.

Maya Precision - curious about the pickup

😢 I miss mine. -
What album would peeps recommend to a non Yes fan? I appreciate this is subjective. As I said before in this thread, the beginning of Roundabout was a real (pleasant) surprise to me, so that may give you an indication of where I’d like to start. I feel there’s a gap in my musical palette. Howe is a wonderful player (as was Squire). So whilst I’ve still got 4 weeks of Apple Music subscription left I’m up for a musical education folks!

Funny this thread should start today. I never got Yes as a youngster. The kids who were into Yes, or Hatfield and The North, etc were the ones who could add up or spell, and usually hopeless at sport. So I didn’t hang around with them lot and it all sounded too complicated for my small brain. Anyway fast forward 40+ years, and I pick up my daughter from the airport last week and she played some music on her phone as we chatted on the journey back, and this incredibly funky tune came on and I asked what it was and she said “Roundabout by some band called Yes”. I nearly crashed the car! The groove was fab. Then just as I was thinking, gotta get me some more Yes (and get over my prejudice), the song went into some odd timing noodle and my disappointment manifested in a massive sigh. Maybe I just like “music for the hard of thinking” 🤪 That said, fantastic musicians, and would probably have liked them more without the keyboard w@@*ery. and more of Steve Howe’s guitar playing.
