  1. I did a year teaching music in prisons. Best fun I had was learning reggae from a couple of Jamaican “import/export professionals”. I was supposed to be the educator, not a chance, these guys showed me how to jam every week. Ive played most styles I think, but never played “metal” to my knowledge. Maybe I should try sometime but I think it’ll be too loud for my liking.
  2. I’d generally be happier lying down at a gig to be honest, preferably in another room/venue/town. Of course I take fig rolls to gigs, doesn’t everyone?! Now now you mention it, I have noticed a lack of biscuity comestibles by the rest of those toadies in the band. It’s all “core tone”, or “modal this” and “diatonic that” with them.....bugger off and pass me them biccies. 🤪
  3. Rehearsing new songs at high volume levels is unproductive IMHO........actually, rehearsing generally at stooopid volumes is a pet hate of mine. Just shows that people aren’t interested in hearing anyone but themselves. I actually really enjoy rehearsing with a band if:- Everyone has practiced their individual parts thoroughly. Volumes are low enough to hear each other. No ones drunk/stoned. I have a stool to sit on (I bring my own). There are Jaffa cakes, or fig rolls. If Partners/family/friends have to be in attendance, they shut up, or make some tea. (I often prefer a good rehearsal than having to gig) There..... I’ve said it.
  4. I have toured in Norway. But we gigged mainly around the south and were driven by local promoters. I echo the above regarding prices, it’s expensive so be prepared for that. We flew out, so I checked about back line before going, and took a DH di pedal in case. The people were amongst the friendliest I’ve ever met. We were out there during their national day, which was amazing. I recorded a local singer we got chatting to after a gig, she sang some Norwegian traditional folk songs, I was so taken with the language and history. Its a beautiful country. Enjoy your giggling.
  5. Where are you Joe? I’m very interested and would be the perfect project for me and my son.
  6. Probably a stooopid question but is it possible to bump a wanted ad? My “P bass chrome pup cover wanted” ad is in the bowels of the wanted section, so is it a case of members scrolling through the ads to see if there’s someone after whatever they may have? Thanks for helping the helpless.😉
  7. Late to the party here and have only read the title, but who’s Sue Dean?
  8. Soydowski guitars are yet to comment.
  9. Sure. As you say, value is subjective. I guess people will pay, or offer a trade exchange, for what they believe the advertised goods are worth to them anyway. Which doesn’t answer your OP query 😂
  10. Unless it’s a 36” scale of course....🤪
  11. Perhaps viewing it as the advertised trade value being the true value, and it’s less for cash, might help the dissonance you feel?
  12. People with flags..........🏳️🏴🚩🏴‍☠️🏁
  13. Same here. I’m a boring old P bass fan, but I like this.
  14. Absolutely Sylvia. My better half does the household finances, so even if I wanted to sneak something past her under my coat (guitar wise obvs), it appears on a spreadsheet sometime later. 😄
  15. Maybe a “point” isn’t being made. Maybe he’s just trying to be humorous.
  16. It’s a scam. I can see right through it.
