  1. Sold AEX 500 hybrid. Piezo & mini humbucker, blend control & 3 band eq. Versatile guitar, with a stunning neck. Recently set up with 11's. There is one deep sctatch on the front of the body, which I will photograph later in better light and a small mark on the back. Obviously structure, sound, playability unaffected. It's never bothered me, but in the interest of disclosure, etc. I have now got a Guild which has a wider nut so is more suited to the fingerstyle I have developed. Nut 43mm https://photos.app.goo.gl/MpKY0metIVWxbH4F3 Production of the Yamaha AEX 500 began in 1998 and ended in 2000. The Yamaha AEX500 was a hybrid acoustic/jazz guitar that could deliver both acoustic and electric tones via a mini-humbucker/piezo-electric pickup combination. It had a flat spruce top with a fixed rosewood bridge and 2 f-holes. Will come with a gig bag & securely packed if posted. Otherwise I'm in Bath, so can meet up around the Bristol/Bath area. Lovely neck Low action Scratch More lovely neck pic At home.
  2. Hardly used I don't have the packing, but will be packaged well for posting. SOLD
  3. SOLD Nice Myers mic & pre. Easy fit & sounds great & in great nick. Excess to my needs, so it's got to go. Info here: https://www.myerspickups.com/pickups/the-grip-series
  4. Geoff sold me an amp & dispatched the day I paid, arrived next day. Great comms. Thanks Geoff.
  5. Shame. A pot, set up & new strings would make it very good VFM.
  6. I'm dairy intolerant, so I'll pass wind. I like it though.
  7. I'm often referred to as "that anchor", so might suit. Pardon?
  8. Yes, but that would mean becoming a keyboard player. .... ...No, can't think of a witty insult ref keyboardists..darn
  9. I read the OP as a humerous comment on the width of the instruments neck, not as a personal attack on the person playing it. The gentleman himself wasn't mentioned. But I guess we can see what we want in any given situation. Personally I'd prefer a Chapman Stick for ERB but each to his own.
  10. I have a Maya unlined fretless P. It's my only bass. I think they're lovely basses. Better quality than a lot of japcrap from the same era. Also, if you forget what sort of instrument you're playing, you only have to glance at the headstock.

  12. Nice. No gimics, no ego on show. Well played, explained, notation & tab nice & clear. Thanks.
  13. Oh well. Really liked the look of that, someone's got a bargain 😊
  14. I'm rather liking that ESP. I'll drop you a pm in the morning.
  15. That's no money. Could almost understand if it was located on the south west coast of Cornwall or the Shetlands...
  16. Did I miss something? Location: London, and willing to meet within M25 radius Condition: good/working/new driver/serviced Sold for: £55 https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F202259441822
  17. Rinse & repeat. Brilliant. That's on my list of new song titles...thanks.
  18. Honestly? Before coming on here I was blissfully unaware of the variety of basses available & was quite happy with my cheap squier jazz bass & old cheap bass stack. No one in any band ever commented on said bass/amp, only on my playing. "that's great, or that's not great"...end of. I then entered the black hole of bass forums which reached into my very insecure being, and I began to say to myself. "other bass players will look upon your lowly bass/amp, point and laugh!" Oh how I imagined being mocked by the multitude of low enders. So, I started a ridiculous 10 year journey of buying and selling equipment in order to feel better about myself, so that in my imagination, I could look another bassist in the eye and without hesitation spout forth the list of high end gear that I owned (but couldn't really afford). However, no one in any of the bands I played commented on said bass/amp, only on my playing. Hold in I thought, this has made no difference to anything other than my insecure ego & bank balance. I now own one cheap bass, and don't even own an amp. Still get asked to play/gig/record with some great players. So why the GAS? For me coz I forget what matters, & have to admit I can suffer from chronic comparing syndrome. I'm probably the only one, but I'm glad that's off my chest. My name's oldslapper & I'm a plonker.😁
