  1. All the Trace stuff I want is sooooo far away. 😭
  2. Doh! I'll be in Weston super mare Wednesday week. Any chance of going back in time, and rearranging whatever it was you were doing last weekend for the 23rd...oh and for round about 8pm, .....please? 😌
  3. I dep'd in "Rod's Faces" a couple of years back. Great fun. The singer does the voice & look to a tee. Looks like I'll be doing a few more with them too. I wasn't a fan of RS, but playing his back catalogue from Faces & solo material, is a blast. The audience love it too.
  4. Do you ever venture East, say over the bridge into Avon area? Thanks. John
  5. This poem was in the order of service at a memorial service for a young Bass player I knew, taken too young. I appreciate that not everyone shares the poems view on bassists "place" in a band, but the sentiment was definitely shared by the young lad.🙂 Thought I'd share it.
  6. Saw them at the Rainbow in 1979 & they came on stage playing 2 basses in the first song....blew my 18 year old head away. Can't remember the song though...sorry.
  7. Haha, I saw this earlier this evening and thought the same
  8. Yup. Last cover band I was in, I used to meet up with the 3 singers and me on an acoustic guitar so they could work out arrangements & harmonies on new songs. Sadly couldn't get the guitarists to do the same, as they needed their "tone" whenever they played. Thinking about that band, neither guitarist had an acoustic anyway.
  9. There actually larger than the stated size.😊
  10. Nanyo Bass Collection = Saab You have to have owned one to understand. Neither hold there value & cheap as chips. (I've owned both...)
  11. Does it come with a Gator case?
  12. What are you looking for?
  13. Thanks Andy, it's sold I'm afraid. Updated title.
  14. Thanks for the estimate cost & yes I'll definitely take to a luthier. I'm just hoping that there's enough to skim. The boards on these are factory unlined, pics added. The 3 I've owned have all been the same.
  15. I'm a massive fan of Maya unlined fretless P basses. I snaffle them up whenever they appear on eBay at a reasonable price. Light, decent pickups & the necks "fit" just right for me. Last one I bought was advertised as having some lines "drawn" on with a marker pen. OK, I'm sure I could get that off? Bass arrived not only with lines drawn on, but some with lines cut in! Seriously! Just buy a lined fretless you numpty! Anyway, I decided not to take it further, if you think it's OK to do this to a lovely board like these, then you're unlikely to see reason on anything else (yes very judgemental I know...but seriously!) Anyway, rant over. Any suggestions here for getting this sorted, before I take it to a luthier? I'd rather not have to get a completely new board made & fitted, but may have to. Can a board be "skimmed" and refinished? The cuts are not deep. A new neck could be an option I guess. But if rather keep the bass as original as possible. Just to say that it's perfectly giggable, & played it yesterday with JBEx. I could leave it as is, but a nice clean board has better esthetics I think. Thanks for any help. John
  16. Hi Mike, Just measured it & it can go to 140cm Cheers, John
  17. Where are you located? Thanks. John
  18. Part of the "Historic Series" Ltd run made in 1999-2000 by Peerless for Gretsch. Fishman electrics. Lovely player, cool looker, great sound. 44.5mm nut width, so suits my hands for fingerstyle.

Yes to the SE range. Great guitars for very little dough...good call.
  20. Nice vintage style pin up truss cover. Came off my latest acquisition, a vintage Gretsch acoustic. It's very cool, just not my kind of thing. It's metal Btw.
  21. Gretsch padded leather guitar strap 50's style. Nice condition. Posted or collect in Bath £15
