.....a rotary knob which allows you to choose which key the 'knobs' play in.
I'd like one of those for one band I play in.....those knobs are always playing in the wrong key. -
I use both a P & a J live. Like both to play & the sound of each. The only pain is the drop in volume when I plug in the J (I use both pups on full as that's the sound I want, so it's not a surprise, but just pain to remember to notch the amp up & down a couple of times in the set)

Is it my imagination, but pic 12 shows a poor neck joint finish? Just noticed that there are 4 holes on one of the back plates, presumably for "trim pots"...just in case you still can't get the tone you want for the next song....😂 -

2 fretless necks one rosewood board & one maple. The rosewood has a home made fretless board, not particularly even finish. But might be good if you want to try fretting, or recapping a neck? Jazz profile with F logo. Maple is pretty good, has more chunky P profile. Has "Artist" logo on headstock. £25 the pair. https://photos.app.goo.gl/Zs89VMXfZrURmJ8v1

I put a bass up for sale, paying my fee of course. I'm now using the neck for another project, so am selling just the loaded body. The bass was on for £400, but I'm putting the body up for less obviously. It probably need to be transferred to the "other" for sales section, but how do I do that, and do I need to pay the fee again as its over a bullseye. Any clues peeps? Thanks, John
The intention behind this thread wasn't to slag off AC and others but find out if they're genuinely able to play stuff that's more demanding than their day jobs require..
Unfortunately the mention of AC often prompts derisory comments, and I always bite... feeling the need to defend him or his "style"... no idea why, I would imagine he couldn't give a monkeys 😁 Sorry to have gone OT.

I've never seen AC play live (either in concert or outside of U2 context, or when noodling on his own), so don't feel remotely qualified to judge his ability to do the bass "pyrotechnics/gymnastics" thing so admired by some. But I can see that its easy to assume that he is singly incapable of playing anything other than what is heard on a U2 recording....but that assumption feels a little lazy at best, and judgemental at worst. I do get the feeling that the derision occasionally aimed at AC's bass lines miss the point on so many levels, not least of which is that to play seemingly "simple" bass parts consistently & with required feel/dynamics over a 2 hour show, requires discipline & an attention span that doesn't drop off after bar 4 of song 1 because he's bored or is not getting any attention. I'm no U2 fan, BTW, apart from The Joshua Tree which I did buy because I thought the drummer had a great hair cut...now who's shallow.

Presumably Bilbo is now referred to as "His Nibs"?
Mike Anthony is a rock solid groove machine. He kept Van Halen locked down in a pretty impressive sense. Funnily enough, Eddie Van Halen tried to get Jeff Berlin to join at one point but Jeff refused because the band were in to some things that he wasn't (though he has never elucidated on that statement). That would have been a wild set up. Adam Clayton on the other hand has always struck me as a talentless sort. His lines could literally be ghost recorded by any pub-band bassist going and you'd never know. The fact that U2 have made themselves multi-millionaires on the back of their tuneless stadium rock is nothing to do with their unskilled musicianship, rather an indication of the general public's appetite for anodyne rubbish.
....no, can't be bothered....
Just looks like a bog standard, edge laminated Fender or Squire jazz body made from cuts of lightweight Alder (with a plain grain) to me.
It's definitely a bog standard jazz body, just wanted to check before listing & the inevitable questions about solid or ply. Cheers
