1.
Its slipping into the "If I like it its good music, If I don't it's anodyne rubbish".
Usually does once AC is mentioned....sad really.
 2.
Mike Anthony is a rock solid groove machine. He kept Van Halen locked down in a pretty impressive sense. Funnily enough, Eddie Van Halen tried to get Jeff Berlin to join at one point but Jeff refused because the band were in to some things that he wasn't (though he has never elucidated on that statement). That would have been a wild set up. Adam Clayton on the other hand has always struck me as a talentless sort. His lines could literally be ghost recorded by any pub-band bassist going and you'd never know. The fact that U2 have made themselves multi-millionaires on the back of their tuneless stadium rock is nothing to do with their unskilled musicianship, rather an indication of the general public's appetite for anodyne rubbish.
....no, can't be bothered....
 3.
Just looks like a bog standard, edge laminated Fender or Squire jazz body made from cuts of lightweight Alder (with a plain grain) to me.
It's definitely a bog standard jazz body, just wanted to check before listing & the inevitable questions about solid or ply. Cheers
 4.
It certainly looks solid. There seems to be a center seam, but the wood is rather striped so beyond that I can't hard to tell how many pieces there are. If it's light it might be basswood, although most basswood I've seen is very plain, more so than this. Where did you get the body?
Ebay purchase a while ago, with a neck attached. Description was limited.
 5.
showing the entire body from several angles would be helpful as there can be small variations in shape, routings, contours that will rng bells with people.
Sure, good idea, thanks. Here's some more pics of routing, and body shape. https://photos.app.goo.gl/UxBBfkIAHuv5Pu5q2
 6. I'm parting out a couple of jazz basses & wanted to get an idea of what this body is so I can give an accurate description. Can't see if it's ply or solid, and there's a stamp in the pocket that says C JUNE and a 3 Pic: https://photos.app.goo.gl/VvEOBwLNGFD7C9wu1 It's very light in weight. Anyway, any help appreciated. Thanks, John
 7.
Sound, strings are flats or rounds?
Currently nickel rounds.
 8. Hi, sure. Not sure what costs would be. I'll check it out. John
 9.
For the buyer - the customs charges are paid but there’s a handling fee by the broker, it tends to cost about twice as much as normal customs charges would be however they do go through quicker.
OK, thanks for the reply. Interesting.
 10.
...their global shipping option is a complete con!
Interesting, in what way Ash? For the seller or buyer? I usually shy away from sending outside UK.

 12. Any bass where the top strap button is higher than the 12th fret. I love the sound and feel of Spectors for instance, but reaching for the 1st fret is an uncomfortable stretch, unless I have the neck pointing upwards. I tend not to care what a bass looks like, not that bothered what it sounds like, but it has to be comfortable to play.
 13. A couple of thoughts. 1) The band have confidence in you & think you're up to the task of learning it...stick with it. 2) The band have confidence in you, and want to stretch you, stick with it. 3) The band have little thought about you're thoughts or feelings about the songs challenges, stick with it & ask for time & get some help with it? 4) something else....others here are more wise, and will be along with suggestions.
 14. enjoyed that, thanks. Louis Johnson must be knackered after every gig 😁
 15. I want to play with that drummer. Someone arrange it for me please. There's half a used Mars bar in it for you.
 16.
Has the neck got side dots? I can't see from the pics.
Hi, Yes it does. Forgot to include that shot doh!. Here's a pic. https://photos.app.goo.gl/DriajviRIOHJX5l92
 17. No sniffs, too pricey? Think I'll break up for spares. Watch this space?
 18. Apparently I make sought after pre amps for basses, favoured by a chap up in Moffat....
 19. Sunday bump. Prepared to strip it and part out (body, neck, bridge, pups, tuners, etc) if enough interest. Shame as nicely put together. £390
 20. YOB Bass....😍😛 Surely this is what the government had in mind when they relaxed the pension laws?
 21.
I don't get this band. His voice sounds like a strangled cat, they look like dorks, they write streams of hippy goblin nonsense land there's slathers of horrible, tuneless, metal guitar over everything. Mysteriously, all the commenters reckon they're musical geniuses. On the plus side they come across as nice fellas - but this rockumentary is dull as ditch water for all but die-hard fans.
As I said in the OP, I don't like Rush's music, and the documentary didn't change that, but they came across as the polar opposite of the willy waving, egotist in- fighting nonsense of the bands who's music I actually like.
 22. Bump Including black scratchplate if you want to go "stealth" https://photos.app.goo.gl/ouccaUGVeiNEXnrF3 £390 posted.
