If something more complex: I haven't used his services so can't comment on the quality of his work, but I've spoken with Dave at B&H just south of Alton and he seems a decent guy.
I used their contact form once to ask about whether they would sell an item of mine on commission: no reply.
Asked the same question using the same form about a different item a few months later: reply within hours.
I played the Andertons stage at Guilfest yesterday afternoon. Was told the backline would be a Boss Katana rig so didn't bother taking an amp: big mistake as they supplied a 100 watt Orange combo!
I don't have a V series, but I do have a P series five string and it's an astonishingly good bass for the money. It's also only about 8.5lbs in weight, so there are light ones out there!
In addition to the above, if you play fingerstyle try and get into the habit of resting your pinky on the B string when you aren't playing it. It's a good way to eliminate unwanted string vibration.
