1. Indonesia now, final assembly still in the US though.
2. I have a number of vintage valves for sale. They are all in working order as I have used them on a regular basis. Serial numbers/dates will follow. Mullard CV4004/M8137 £75.00 The daddy. It’s been my go to preamp valve. This is an MOD version of the M8137, which itself was a “special quality” version of the EC883/12AX7. It has both standard Mullard and MOD markings on it. Original box. Used. Looks like this (not my image) GE ECC83/12AX7 £24.00 A JAN (Joint Army Navy) “ruggedized” version of the General Electric 12AX7, specially made for the US military. Used. GE ECC81/12AT7 £14.00 Again, JAN (Joint Army Navy) “ruggedized” version of the General Electric 12AT7, specially made for the US military. Original box. NOS. Collection from NE Hampshire. Happy to discount if you buy more than one. Happy to post, with prices confirmed according to number of valves bought. All items will be sent Recorded Delivery. Thanks for looking. Gareth
3. Relieved no hardcore aging was involved

5.
Not having the original boxes or good enough packaging i'd be too worried they might get damaged as they are in virtualy new condition. I was hoping that a buyer could be found locally who could pick them up or meet me within reason. I think you might be a bit too far for that though.
Hi Dave No worries at all, I totally understand. GLWTS. Gareth
6. Yep, if you could post them I'd have them...
7. And hello from Alton
8.
The power module in the TH500 is the same as some manufactured claimed 900 watts on heads.
So, the quoted 250 watts may be somewhat conservative?
9.
If you're after the Jamerson sound, then it's hard to beat the LaBella FLs. Feel is obviously a very personal thing, but I love the feel of the LaBellas too. The main drawback is that they are so damned expensive. A very reasonable substitute (at a much more reasonable price) is the strings that Lakland used to market as 'Jo Osborne' flats. Lakland still make the strings, but I can't remember offhand what they're now called.
Agreed re. La Bellas, and I believe the Lakland strings are simply GHS Precision Flats in a different packet.
10.
Never tried it but I'd imagine you'd struggle to get a bad result. That said my experience of the nv cabs is that they love amps with heft so I'd be inclined to use something weightier.
Thanks, and yes, that's my concern. I'm not sure 250 watts is enough to really get an NV115 going....
11. Hi all I'd be interested to hear the thoughts of anyone who's tried out, or uses, this combination. Cheers Gareth
12. I had Innovation Silver Slaps on my BSX and thought they were excellent.
13. It's being replaced by the 400 watt version.
14. I'm relisting this as, while I love it, I don't need this much power. Price drop to £900.
15. My two honeyburst 2012 American Specials. Two piece alder bodies, 8.5lbs, serial numbers eight apart. The fretless conversion was done by Brook Guitars in Devon. I have no other electric basses. These two nail it for me
16. Hello all So my new bass has a slimline body that's only 12cm deep. Does anyone know of any decent quality, well padded gig bags that have adjustable straps on the side I can keep it in? Thanks Gareth
17. E
Do these work with magnetic pickups, or just piezos?
Either is just fine
18. I think renting a decent bass is a good choice if you get the option to buy it. We did this for my daughter's flute, as we were unsure whether she'd stick at it, but she did, has recently passed Grade 4, and has now ended up with a very nice Yamaha flute that we own.
19. I went for a K&K Bass Max in the end. It sounds great run through my Providence Dual Bass Station preamp, so all is good
20. It's here, no damage and sound post still intact I went to the end of our road and just met the guy in the end, as he didn't think he could get up the lane.
21. Hello all We're looking for a new drummer/cajon player to join a well-established SW Surrey band, Sammy Rat and The Resonators. We're all late 40s early 50s and play mainly acoustic-based material from the 60s and 70s - think Small Faces, Eagles, Ronnie Lane, Lindisfarne, Creedence, Glenn Campbell, Kinks etc - but with plenty of Americana thrown in there as well. Acoustic guitars, mandolins, upright and fretless bass, keys, and 3-4 part harmonies abound Age doesn't matter to us, just be a competent player and have a love of music. We aren't out rehearsing and gigging every week, so if that's what you're looking for we're probably not the right band for you, but if you want a few quality gigs each year and a light rehearsal schedule, please get in touch. Oh, you must have own transport too. Cheers Gareth
22. Hi Marc I've never really noticed any drag. I think the oil in your hands keeps them speedy Cheers Gareth
