I sharpied the top of one pedal and it dispered the light out really well to the side, so this would be my way to go.
  2.
I mean the bit the string wraps around... it probably has a name ("capstan" possibly?) but I don't know what it is!
Ah I see now. Yes, they are waisted indeed, just like the ones below:
  3.
I can't see from the photo - but are these "waisted" or straight-sided?
Do you mean the actual tuner shaft with the paddle? If so, yes, they are waisted.
  4.
Do these have the thinner necks, i.e. jazz width like ?
They are 41.3 mm wide at the nut and a slim C shape
  5.
This bass is three months older than me (or at least the neck is...)
And just one month older than me! Looks fab.
  6.
Where did you get your scratch plates from? I am considering swapping the bridge over. I have a gotoh 201b kicking around. Think it should swap ok.
Standard Fender 13 hole scratchplates from the US off eBay: even with postage they were cheaper than buying the equivalent in the UK! I thought about swapping the bridges too, to Hipshot Vintage, but in the end decided not to.
  7. Here we have an excellent Protec Contego gigbag/semi-hard case for sale. Very light use so in very good to excellent condition. All the details are here I'm firm on £55 collected from NE Hampshire or central London (WC2), or I can post for £8 P&P. Thanks Gareth
  8. That's a great looking bass! Good score I am a huge fan of these basses. Mine are the 2012 honeyburst models with two piece alder bodies, 8.5lbs each. As you say, the necks are fantastic. I had one converted to fretless by Book Guitars in Devon. I've swapped the scratchplates and added thumb rests, and both basses have upgraded Hipshot tuners.
  9.
I'm playing in the states in a couple of months, I'm going to try and pick one of these up.
Good plan. It's a top notch piece of kit.
  10. I love the idea of a gig bag to carry two basses and picked this up at Christmas. However, as I never take both fretted and fretless basses to a gig (I take one or the other, plus my upright, depending on the band), I am only using it for home storage! So, I'm going back to single bags... Anyway, it's a terrific bag: sturdy yet light, good neck support and loads of storage. You can see the Gator page here, and there's a Youtube video too https://www.youtube....h?v=gdYaQjPezHw Mine has been out of the house twice since I got it in January and is therefore in near mint condition. These are £159 posted new in the UK and I am looking at 20% off new, which is a firm £125 posted using UPS next day service. Collection from NE Hampshire or Central London knocks a further £15 off the asking price. Thanks Gareth
  11. I think Bass Gear in Twford are both La Bella and Sadowsky stockists. Worth a try?
  12.
I'd be interested to know how much the fretless conversion cost.
£200 + VAT
  13. Thanks for the comments guys. One other thing I meant to say is that the price Brook quoted was the most competitive I received, so if anyone is considering a fingerboard conversion I really can't recommend them highly enough.
