1. If I won the lottery I'd get a 1966 "dots and bound" Jazz because it's my YOB bass, but to be honest if I'd won the lottery I'd probably buy a '66 Precision and Bass V as well if money was no object!
 2. I love playing that song, especially the run when it goes "clowns to the left of me..."
 3.
I could be up for that, could you give it to Mike sometime to bring back to the big L and save me the p&p ?
Excellent, and I work in the big L so am happy to bring it in one day PS Who's Mike?
 4. Interesting, on one of my laptops the return key doesn't work, so everything just appears as one long stream of consciousness!
 5. Just concluded another deal with Nick. Smooth as you like, and we actually got to have a natter as well this time, which was good. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
 6. Protec Contego gigbag/semi-hard case. Excellent condition. http://www.bassdirec...ec_Contego.html I'm looking for £55 plus £8 P&P.
 7. That's totally delish Clarky.....
 8. Hi Eude I gave both a good run. I didn't try two of the Mi10s, but I plumped for the Mi12 in the end anyway as it was just bigger sounding and had a lovely smooth tweeter in it. The Mi10 sounded boxy to me, which I guess is unsurprising as it is not much bigger than a cardboard box anyway! There are two Mi12s for sale here on BC at the mo, so you could sort yourself pretty cheaply if you want to go that route. Cheers Gareth
 9. I took delivery of a pair of Fender Tony Franklin basses from the US last week.
 10.
I'm really tempted to take this back. Oh Lord
Bring it home to papa Nick
 11.
Mmmmm, wondering what this would be like with a PF500??!!
I used it a few times with a Tonehammer 500 and it sounded great. It easily filled a large hall without PA support.
 12.
Any idea of price? The old dropheads were ridiculously expensive compared to just buying the head and cab separately!
No idea yet I think, but as these will be all-PRC made I would imagine significantly lower than the UK made LB Drophead combos.
 13.
It was the very same cab !!!
I know!
 14. Just sold a valve to Nik. Great communication all the way and I would happily deal with him again. He's a long-standing member of BC and a pillar of our community.
 15.
Would this work well with a CTM15?
Yes. I had the very same setup and it was a boss little rig!
 16.
I'd be interested in your settings on the TH500 for these vids if you can remember how you had it.
Hi Pete Good to hear from you! Gain: 11 Drive: 10 Bass: 11 Treble, Mid and Mid Freq all at noon Cheers Gareth
 17.
WRT the looks I'd be tempted to swap the necks. Surprising that the fretless is more weighty. Any idea why? Also... the sound of the fretless is darker and more sexy.. IMHO Is this down to the strings?

By the way, how did the white nylons turn out?
I am tempted to try swapping the necks as I agree the fretless would look great with that colour combination. Might even up the weight between the two as well. The white nylons are lovely strings. I've had black nylons on my Veillette since I got it and really grown to love their dark growl and low tension, so when the whites came out it was a no-brainer to try them.
