1.
Chain Saw?
This amp comes in a custom casing
2. Well, I just realised the amp would hang over the side of my Berg by nearly 3" each side. Visual fail, so it's a no from me
3.
The questions I'd be asking are- How old are the KT88's and when was it last serviced and by whom?
It's ex-demo from a shop, so very low miles, but I've asked them for a full history just now.
4. I may go back and use the Thomann price as a negotiating tool.
5.
They retail for £988 on Thomann. I think £800 is a fair price, but not really good. Plus, how old, how much use, cosmetic condition, last serviced? If the KT88's need changing you could be in the region of £75 for a decent matched pair http://www.hotroxuk....-lion-kt88.html and this could take the shine off things. For this money, I'd want to be really sure that I wanted the amp. Have you played through it?
I hadn't seen that Thomann price, only the £1299 UK RRP, so yes you are right the price isn't as good as I thought.
6.
What is a really good price?
Just over £800
7. Hi all I've been offered one for (edit: what I thought was) a really good price, and I was wondering what people think of them? Cheers Gareth
8. The Legacy series at Strings Direct? Made by Picato I believe....
9. Trades + cash to me also considered: Ashdown LB30 head Ashdown CTM15 or 30 head Trace Twin Valve head good quality 1 x 12 cab Thanks Gareth
10.
Well if a certain Sandberg sells... I was surprised to see it up for sale!
Indeed. With a Wal incoming next year something had to give....
11. It's a great rig that's for sure. I would buy it all back if I had the spare cash
12. I played in a really good function band where the drummer used one of the top end Roland kits. It sounded fantastic, had a huge array of sounds, and was easy to set up/pack down. The only thing I would say is they need a really decent PA to sound their best, and unless everyone's using IEMs, a quality amp behind it as well, for the band to get a good thump for the kick and snare.
13. It's when I read a thread like this that I realise how lucky I am to still be playing with folks I've known for over twenty years. Agree with what's been said above - it's their loss - onwards and upwards for you!
14. I regret selling mine. The TONE from these amps is just lovely. Wish I had some spare wedge...
15. Sold Graeme some valves. Great comms, smooth deal, top fella
16. So, the problem still exits after all, but only occasionally so hard to pin down. Could it be one of my instrument leads?
17. I'd have a YOB '66 Jazz, dots and bound neck with lollipop tuners.
18. Thanks guys. I'm looking to replace the whole EQ system so I'll need to source a new piezo too!
19. So, there's definitely something up with my bass, as every now and then it emits a strange squeal. Previous diagnosis here on BC has suggested a failing piezo element (still possible) and an induction loop in the venue (not possible!), but I want to get it sorted. I'll have someone try and sort it first, but if no joy is to be found, can anyone recommend a preamp setup that will allow me to combine a magnetic and piezo pickup, on a volume, blend and tone three pot setup? Cheers Gareth
20. With a new Wal incoming next Spring I need to make some space, so here's 9.5lbs on German PJ bass love.

swamp ash body
maple neck
34" scale
delano pickups
two band active eq with passive option when you pull up the volume knob (treble control becomes a passive tone control)
rosewood fingerboard with optional front dots
lakland flats (original Sandberg strings will also be supplied)
This really is a great bass, and I'd love to keep it, but I can't justify it as well as the Wal. New, this would cost £1700 new. It's a touch less than a year old and comes with the original Sandberg gig bag (one tear to the inner lining). Shipped anywhere in the UK for £[s]1200[/s]1150. 21. That's my old bass (I think I had it third hand). It's a really good player, and the Hipshot bridge (added by me) really beefs it up. Very good basses.
22. I'm just down the road in Alton and I have to say I'm really tempted. This would sound amazing with my Bergantino CN212! I'm guessing it looks like this?
