1. Shall I ask if they can put you a custom set together at the same time?
2. Would a string the same length as the ones I need do for you? If so, I could ask them to run off an extra E string and package up a third set (with the other three at regular length) for you?
3.
OK, let us know how they are. I might try them on my Takamine B10 which also needs order direct from La Bella.
What length do you need? My Veillette sets will be 38.75" long.
4. Yes, they are a custom length so need to be a special order.
5. I have a set for my Veillette incoming in a couple of weeks. Eric at La Bella says tension is the same as the black nylons, but the whites are "faster" and "brighter". I'll do an A/B recording and will report back
6. I'm pretty sure the preamp section in the Drophead model is closer to the Little Bastard (2 x ECC83, 1 x ECC81) than the Spyder.
7. Would you be willing to split? I'd be very interested in the head if so.
8. BSX Allegro should also feature in this list.
9. I sold a strap to Alain. A pleasure to deal with and I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again.
10. Hi Lozz I tried the Tonehammer 350 at Bassgear the other day and was blown away by how good it sounded. The gain and drive controls give you a lot of different options, and that's before you begin to play with the tone controls. Definitely worth checking out. Cheers Gareth
11.
Hi Deepbass5, I have an Artist 6 fretted that is about 2 weeks away from delivery. You are welcome to come around and try it out when it arrives. I live in Sandhurst, Berkshire.
Shall I bring my Veillette Archtop at the same time?
12. I wear my basses quite high, so my fretting wrist is straight and there's no nasty break angle for my plucking hand. I find this puts the bass at just the right height for playing fingerstyle, picking or slapping. This translates to a strap just slightly longer than Sheehan's optimum.
13. Hi Dave
OK Gareth. BTW we are The Wheatsheaf in Alton on the 16th. I could stick it in the car with my rig if that helps.
Thank you very much! And I shall pop down on the 16th for sure...
14. Assuming it's still around, could I give this a run out at a (large venue) gig I have coming up othe 23rd Dave? It may well be a very nice one cab solution for me
15. To quote Sheryl Crow. "If it makes you happy....."
16. All lovely basses from a totally trustworthy seller. I'd have the JC back in a flash if I had the readies
17. Hi all I just got these, but have decided not to fit them after all. They are chrome/satin finish. All the details are here. Cheapest I was quoted for a set of four in the UK was £104. You can have a set of four for £85, or buy all eight for £160. Thanks Gareth
18. I use one or two Markbass NY151RJ cabs depending on the size of the venue. I would prefer to move to a two 1x12 setup.
19.
I can see that all the band's hard work to keep up to date with song choices looks in jeapardy, and I'm pretty unhappy about that.
What do your band mates think? It sounds like you have taken a conscious decision to keep your material up to date. While there may be a place for some of the tracks he wants to play, in an expanded repertoire, it seems out of order for him to come in and start dictating terms. There are other singers out there.... if it doesn't feel right call his bluff, as a united band, and say no.
20. The C4 will be more aggressive sounding than the 6B, so probably the best bet for you
