1.
2x VS112 is more portable i guess.
Yes, dimensions-wise, but they are pretty heavy. The build quality is also much lower, although they sound good.
2. I had an LB30 and loved it. I ran it with a 4 ohm LB212 and it was just perfect. There's an LB212 on eBay for a good price here, and a silly expensive one here. The alternative is a combination of the VS112, 212 or 115 cabs, but they are Chinese made, and much heavier than the UK made LB cabs.
3.
Yep - literally just spoken to James and there is a Minnie Rackmount option Don't have final prices but I think Minnie is looking like £975 in the UK with the rack at about £50 more. Final pricing will depend on how many we can order up front and shipping costs plus whatever the prevailing £ vs $ rate is. There's also the monster 1600w D which is just 12lbs: http://demeteramps.u...1&product_id=94
Forgive the thread hijack, but are BG going to stock Demeter as well Barrie?
4. My personal preference is La Bella Black Nylon strings - perfect tension, tone and feel (for me).
5. I'd defintely go fretless and/or upright. It's my band's standard setup and works really well.
6. How much for one cab couriered, if that's an option?
7.
Would this help clean up my sound ?
Probably leave you sounding a touch sterile. Oh, and lighter fuel works well on rust too.
8. These are great amps. I ran one with a Demeter preamp for a while and it sounded amazing.
9. Why not sell it with the EH ones fitted and offer the Mullards as an "upgrade" for £x extra? Unless you plan on keeping the Mullards for something else?
10. I think calling him a luthier was generous, to say the least.
11. Jack Bruce plays bass on a few tracks from Bernie Marsden's "And About Time Too" album from around that time. For example... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLLyEaXpuPk PS No one thundered like Cozy!

Another excellent transaction completed with Martin. He's a BC legend!
13. I can get all the gear in my signature in my VW Fox, but if I'm moving band stuff as well it's a Nissan Terrano for me.
14. These work well, but they are not cheap!
15. I use a Radial Bigshot i/o to switch between EUB and fretless at virtually every gig. A very simple and cheap solution.
16. This is now sold.
17. Bump for just the PT Mini.
18. I sold an MXR compressor pedal to Gerald. Communication was excellent throughout, payment was fast, and I would happily deal with him again
19. Thinking I may need to bring my amp and cab, even though it's the same set up as OBBM?
20. The problem was an open air stage. Bass just disappears in such situations. If you like the setup and it works for the vast majority of gigs I wouldn't change a thing.
21. MXR is now sold.
22. I don't have an Eminence, but I do have a BSX Allegro, so a similar kind of EUB. I put a set of Silver Slaps on it when I bought it in November 2010. The same strings are still on it now, and I have had no problems whatsoever keeping it in tune. In fact, the strings are so stable I hardly ever have to tune it! Cheers Gareth
23.
Bergantino CN212 is a great cab. I know a couple of people using them with Aggie TH500's and they sound great.
My exact setup. Without doubt the best rig I have ever had..... and I have had a lot !
24.
Helloooooooooooo
Car Park Money Shot?
25. What you describe doesn't sound like a failing valve to me.... could it be your ears playing tricks on you as they get "tired" during the gig? The easiest thing to do is swap the valve out for another of the same spec and see what happens, and you can always try other brands as well without risking anything. Whenever I have owned an amp with valves in I have always enjoyed seeing how different brands affect the tone.
