1.
To recap... they feel like the 760FLs - maybe slightly more substantial, but no more tense - but they definitely have more going on in the mids. No zing - just clarity. They're just lovely to play. Very responsive, and they growl lovely when you want 'em to...
That sounds perfect! Thanks very much for coming back so quickly!
 2. That's a relief! How are you getting on with them now WoT? Still happy with them?
 3. Do these strings have decent sustain like the La Bellas, or are they all thump?
 4.
Interesting in the early day he used to use a pick - if this video from rock goes to college is anything to go by
And on a fretless too!
 5.
I got the parcel of strings I asked for dropping through my letter box.
They ship direct to the UK? Result!
 6. Another faultless sale to Grahame. Always a pleasure to deal with and instant payment. He plays the same bass as me too
 7. Seriously? Why is this still here? That's an incredible deal for the head, let alone a combo!!!!!!
 8. My BSX Allegro slaps just fine, but then it does have a proper hollow body and a lovely think slab of ebony for the fingerboard.
 9.
Oh dear... Sandberg should really rethink their carier services, that bass got some knocks along it's way...
Yes, it's in worse condition that my 1970 P bass! First impressions:

beautifully put together
aging is very well done
lovely smooth pots and sounds fantastic in active or passive, very subtle eq
tortoiseshell scratchplate looks cheap, may replace it, but then I'll have to age it!
9.5lb
The only issue is that because I asked for a light bass it feels just ever so slightly neck heavy: I am hopeful that a set of Dunlop straplocks and a wider strap will sort this. Cheers Gareth
 10. Hi there I swapped from 4 to 5 years ago, and didn't even touch a 4 string until I bought my '70 fretless P bass a couple of years back. It's a cliche, but it really felt like coming "home". I now alternate between that and my fretless 5 on a regular basis, as both basses are so great I have trouble choosing between them. I think it's actually more important to connect with the instrument than how many strings it has. The low B is useful, no doubt, but it isn't a deal breaker for me. Cheers Gareth
 11.
Just heard the completion date for my VT5 has been put back two weeks
But with typical German efficiency it's landed on time.... should be with me Friday
 12.
Cheers man, and thanks for the vid!
13. Hello all Can anyone tell me how Status, Overwater, Lakland (GHS?) and Sadowsky flats in 45/65/85/105 gauge compare to the equivalent La Bella set? Cheers Gareth
 14.
and sold to Gareth's guitarist friend Thanks for the hook up Gareth!
Pleasure. I should start charging commission the number of deals I've facilitated lately lol!
 15. I remember when these came out early 90s. Mark King used them with the GPXV(?) series heads. I had the combo version with the very same cab underneath. Sounded vey good, and that price is a steal.
 16.
Many thanks Gareth, this one is in extremely good condition ... as well as a lot cheaper than retail price
Hi Clarky Yep, he's interested. Will PM you his email so you can discuss direct. Cheers Gareth
 17. Hi Clarky The guitarist in my band is looking for one of these. I'll double check with him and get back to you asap. Cheers Gareth
 18.
Are the Telefunken ribbed or smooth plate? Still in good condition?
Smooth plate.
 19. Makes me feel very nostalgic, as I had one of these are my first "proper" amps back in what, 89? They are the business, and that price is a steal.
 20.
Somebody is going to get a ridiculous bargain.
No kidding!
 21.
I',m thinking of putting tapewounds on it
Yes! La Bella black nylons would be lovely on this. So tempted by this..... Cheers Gareth
 22. Maybe it's modded? Who would bother to copy an Overwater? Pretty sure that Laurence from OW (Bassadder here on BC IIRC) would know the skinny.
