1. The LB cabs were made in the UK and had neo drivers whereas the VS cabs are made in China. The LB212 was a far superior cab to the two VS112 cabs I owned briefly, plus the LB series are much lighter.
2. Mid range snarl? Not sure about the J pickup but that sounds like the Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder SPB3 for the P position!
3. Just heard the completion date for my VT5 has been put back two weeks
4.
^^ I don't think shipping to Norway would be economical though ^^ Nice bit of kit if you're local
Ah, I'd missed that
5.
And there`s a feeler in the for sale section about an LB.
And the matching LB212 cab. A match made in heaven......
6. MY LB30 was a superb amp, the tone was just wonderful. It is the only amp I really regret selling

8. Here's the pickup from my December 1970 necked P bass
9. Top man, top head, deal with confidence here people
10. 1 x "Heads Up" strap Basically, this is a 2.75" wide strap that is counterbalanced with lead weights to stop neck dive. It really works, I just have no need for it any more. Brand new £45 posted (2nd class Recorded) Collection for Central London or NE Hampshire is also welcome. Cheers Gareth
11.
I don't suppose there's anyone here in or near London with one of these (4 or 5 string, Alder or Ash body) who'd be able to meet up somewhere for me to try out ? I feel virtually ready to order one but have never played one, so I'm a bit hesitant. Please PM me if you think you could help.
My VT5 (that's a PJ to you and me) will be landing in London in two weeks Andy. More than happy to meet somewhere if you fancy giving it a workout.
12. The "official" setup is two ECC83 for the preamp (the two valves next to each other), with a single ECC82 as the driver.
13.
Ok, I removed the hood from the little sucker... and found a few strange things. The two preamp tubes at the left side are two 12AX7 while the last one (right side) is a 12AU7.
12AX7 is the US code for the European code ECC83, likewiswe 12AU7 is an ECC82.
14. La Bella now make flats that are suitable for through-body stringing.
15. I didn't order a tinted neck with my VT5... didn't realise I could..... hope it doesn't look too weird with the hardcore aging!
16.
First day of the Lakkies, great so far!
How do they compare to the La Bellas, both in terms of feel (i.e. smooth, rough to the touch?) and tension?
17. I would take one if someone would buy my second NY151RJ, but sadly no takers
18.
Very nice it is too sir! Are you going for an ash/matt or alder/highgloss body?
Hard core aged, matt on ash.
19. Brilliant! I can now see what my VT5 will look like when it arrives in a month's time.
20. OBBM is selling a MIJ sunburst Geddy Lee right here on BC. £550 gets it!
21. Don't forget they've added a TT4 to the line as well now....
22. Not many amps I regret selling, but my LB30 is one of them. In a word........ TONE
23. Same experience here, but a quick play with the pots sorted it. I put Innovation Silver Slaps on the one I had, which meant I had to use piezo only, but the lower tension and improvement in tone made for a much more satisfying EUB experience!
