1. Hi folks My Veillette wears La Bella black nylons that are 38 3/4" from ball end to silk. While I like the strings very much I fancy trying something else, but almost all extra long strings seem to be 38". Anyone know of anything that bit longer? Cheers Gareth
 2.
Personally, I'd get a 10 or 12" lightweight cab to go with the Reidmar. Even in an acoustic trio, you might struggle with a 60W amp (I certainly would).
I agree, a nice EBS Classic or (2nd hand) Neo cab would be ideal.
 3. Not even sure this should qualify, but this is what I have at my feet for each gig...
 4.
SA Dual Expression pedal --- Subdecay Echoboc --- SA BEF Pro --- ss/bs TAFM --- SA MWD Pro --- ss/bs TAFM w/gate
What do you think of the Soundlox pedals? I love the look of those two.
 5.
When you say harsh on the ear, do you mean when running at sensible volume or when at or approaching clipping?
Sensible volume. I just much preferred the XLS's tone, as did my band mates.....
 6. I've had both and much preferred the sounds coming from the XLS. I found the IPR hellishly loud but somewhat harsh on the ear. Also, unless they have changed the design, the IPR1600 isn't bridgeable in the traditional sense. Insead, if you use just one speaker output it gives more power to that output than if you were using two.
 7.
I disagree that the head is not versatile in the sense that the sound it produces can be used in most genres.
You expressed what I meant far better than I did in my rushed off post!
 8. I'm loving my TTE500. It's not the most versatile head in the world, but the core tone is fantastic, and as per Mr Muzz above, it's as sexy as hell! Yes, I took the badges off....
 9.
I love it but I tried one of these Randy Jackson heads in Bass Gear and the sound suited my style
That one is mine now, along with two of the matching cabs. Absolutely love these heads.
 10. Thanks Nick. Decided not to "go large" and stick with my Nano, but have a bump on me!
 11. Not interested in any other makes, but if you have a BSX Allegro 4 and fancy a 5, please let me know!
 12. I would recommed Phil Jones Bass for this bass - very clean and transparent tone.
 13.
I know you cant see me but I'm hanging my head in shame as i type this. I have now watched your video, i didnt notice it was one, i thought it was a photo... I thought it was a well explained demo but would have liked to have heard you drive it a bit harder, you almost did but backed off. I think you are in your garage so i guess it wasnt possible?
Haha, you do know I was only teasing... Worth noting that, try as I might, I could never get mine to go gritty
Utmost respect to your playing WB but the reason for the reference was I'm after some Old Skool "Phat" tones from my next amp and your videos display the nice Honk that the Spyder has. Is it a one trick pony or is there some "mellow" tone to be found also.
I think a lot of the honk was due to the fact that it was a P bass being used. I used the amp with all my other basses and never thought it was inherently "honky". Great amps, lovely warm core sound with a simple user interface, but actually nice and versatile.
 14.
Well I have havent seen the video threads you mention
You mean the video I posted in this very thread to assist you in your sale? I'm hurt
 15.
I think it was a bog brush by the look of it
Should have been mocha then?
 16. Hi Nick What are the dimensions of the 'board, and did you put the "hook" or the "loop" velcro on it? Cheers Gareth
 17. Well done team... so who's pointing this out to the eBay seller?
 18. I am no expert, but I would say there is no way that is an L series Fender.
 19.
I certainly wouldn't want to put up any readies to buy one without trying it first, in case it turned out to be a horrible player.
And now I have found one from my year of birth......
 20.
I wonder how a low B would sit with it.
from the reports I've heard, just fine
 21. Is it a lined fretless? If yes, it's an easy job, as the dots on the side of the neck will line up just fine, but if it's unlined not quite so simple as the dots will be in the "fret" position. You'll also need a new nut or a shim under the existing one. Depending where you are, The Gallery in London, Joe White in Ash Vale, Bernie Goodfellow in Brighton are three good candidates.
 22.
Gareth, I coudn't find any on ebay but would be interested to take a look, can you post links?
Nice sunburst 1967 here, and the same seller has a 1966 refin for sale which hasn't sold in ages but is currently unlisted. Also another one in the Netherlands here. They have it listed on their eBay account as well, but I can't find the link just now....
