1. There's a JC for sale on here right now!
2. Hi Ian I'm in Alton, and you are more than welcome to try my JC. In fact, I'm gigging in Guildford on Saturday so we might be able to hook up then? cheers Gareth
3. Hi Nick I checked just now (forgot to do it last night ) and I'm afraid I don't still have the string. Sorry. Gareth
4. Not much help I suspect Barrie, but my 1988 MIJ P bass has allen key adjusters for the bridge height.
5.
Shame your not splitting, I'm after the 1x15 in this format. Jem
Sorry, but I don't want to end up with just the one cab.
6.
P.S. Alternatively if anyone has a spare .070 D string, please let me know
Hi Nick I might have one spare. Let me check tonight and I'll get back to you!

I sold a P bass pickup cover to Dave. Excellent communication and a pleasure to deal with.
8. May well not be your kind of music, but this is me playing my BSX through an LB30 and LB212 cab. Note that I have lower gain tubes in the preamp to keep it cleaner at volume.
9. Too much amp stuff so a rationalisation beckons! Here we have two Ashdown Mini Neo cabs, the 4x8 is rated 1000 watts and the 1x15 350 watts, and each cab is 8 ohms impedance. Both cabs are 585cm tall, 47.5cm wide and 33.5cm deep, the 1x15 weighs 21kg and the 4x8 is 25kg, Pictures below, courtesy of the previous owner (hope he won't mind), but both are in superb condition and have Roqsolid covers. Square handles on side, not round. £450 firm collected from NE Hampshire. No trades, unless you have the larger Classic Series Neo 2x10 and/or 1x15 cabs, and not willing to split at this time. UPDATE: Shipping options added 21/2/12
10. Do you have any Thumpinators in stock at the moment Max?
11. I haven't had this long, got it just before Christmas, but I am tempted to go back to a separate pre/power amp setup so testing the water. All the skinny about these amps is on the Ashdown site here, but essentially what we have is the Dual Tube preamp (12AX7 and 12AU7) with an ABM power stage. Lovely warm tube tones, bags of power, what's not to like? You can hear the very amp in my clip below (forgive my inane babble, it was a spur of the moment thing to record it!): Cheapest I've found these new is £469, so I am looking for £400 posted in the original box or £390 collected (NE Hampshire or Central London), and I'll include a Roqsolid cover worth £28 too. Cheers Gareth
12. Just fitted one to my Jack Casady, sourced through Skelf (Alan of ACG) through this very forum. Haven't given it a good workout yet so can't comment on any sonic changes, but there's a great improvement in sustain, plus the ability to adjust each string's height more comprehensively is a big plus for me. Recommended.
13. Hi folks So I bought this cover to go on my 1970 P bass, but now I've sourced an original one this is available for sale. This one was aged by Madison's Music Store in the US, who specialise in aging parts. They did a nice job. Pefect for an old Fender! Anyway, £20 posted 2nd class RD, aged fitting screws also included! Cheers Gareth
14. Great basses, I had a sunburst one which was terrific, and as you say the low Bs are great. I'd love this, but no spare cash....
15. Superb basses, shouldn't be here long.
16. I've recently come back to Fender basses after years playing boutique basses (Wal, Smith, Elrick). It's been like coming home, and I'd take a battered, mojo'd to hell year of birth 1966 J or P that played superbly over a Fodera that played superbly any day.
17. Hi folks I have one of these that is surplus to requirements. It's in pretty much mint condition. £13 posted as a parcel to your door.
18.
I was under the impression that the LB112 was 8 ohm, and the LB212 was 4 ohm. I believe the VS equivalents are all 8 ohm.

The 212 is 4 ohm and the 112 is 8 ohm.
Well, I stand corrected then!
19.
so whats the difference between all the brands..Is it a "get what you pay for" scenario here or will they all sound different.
A lot of folks say that different makes have different tonal characteristics. When I changed the JJs out of my LB for Mullards, for example, the tone warmed up a lot and was much more musical.
20.
Walbassist..beeeeeeyooootiful pair of basses! Walbassist = no Wal bass? perhaps your name is Walter.
Thanks! Yes, two amazing basses. Indeed, no Wals at the moment, but I am planning something with Paul which should see the light of day in a couple of years.
