The Mike Dirnt is missing from that list
Indeed it is. I forgot to mention that I play in a Jam/Weller tribute band, so ideally I'd like it to look like one of Foxton's basses.
Does it have to say Fender on the head?
It doesn't have to no, but I would be quite picky about what else appears there! What are you thinking?

So, with a trade of my Squier Matt Freeman imminent I am looking to upgrade my P bass but am slightly bewildered by the choice! Any thoughts on what's good? Not looking to spend silly money, and if the quality of my Squier is anything to go by I don't need to anyway, but some pointers would be welcome. My choices, buying new, under £800, look like being: Standard P bass - £413 (with current rebate offer) Roger Waters P Bass - £583 50s P bass - £601 Deluxe Active P Bass Special - £647 American Special - £793 Any thoughts? Cheers Gareth

So, earlier this summer, I dipped my toe in the P bass waters with this superb Squier. I've now decided to go the whole hog and complement my 70 fretless P with a fretted bass of similar vintage, so this bass has to go. It's a Squier Matt Freeman P bass in black/maple. It's in very good condition save for one dent on the edge of the body. I've upgraded it with a Duncan SPB 3 Quarter Pounder, a Badass, and a KiOgon P bass wiring kit. It sounds absolutely fantastic, balances very well and is nice and light. It really is a very good bass and I won't be that bothered if it doesn't sell, but I would like to get something old.... I'd like £400 posted.

1973 Fretless Fender Precision - 100% original - SOLD

Well, having spent some time with this bass I must say it's in great nick. I took the neck off and opened it up to get a few internal shots and I'm not sure it'd ever been taken apart - the screws were all nice and tight, and the foam mute was actually stuck to one string! Anyway, great nick, lovely rosewood board, what's not to like? It's boxed up and ready to post. -
I think your deranged selling this Mr G, its a very versatile head and sounds great with a fretless and with just a tweek adds some serious top to my Streamline. Buy this, dont prevaricate if you dont buy you will regret it. Its a bargain I paid list for mine from Bass Direct not that long ago.................
Yes I am deranged, but it seems to be a problem I have at the moment.... just look at my buying two 70s fretless P basses!

A fun article to read.
Is a Precision without frets really a Precision? Certainly. 1970 catalog page for the most ironic of all Fender instruments. One of the first significant Precision Bass developments of the decade seemed to be the very height of irony; a design feature that seemed to controvert the very name of the instrument at the ever-experimenting hands of Fender itself.
An here is mine, newly acquired by me, and with a neck date stamp of December 1970. It's 8.9lbs of woody loveliness...
I don't think I'm following this FS thread, 2 days ago there's a listing by walbassist saying there are now 5 Basschatters in the queue. Then the next day, he bumps the advert. Is this for sale or not? Is it being held for someone. I'd be very interested and would welcome a PM if it's still up for sale.
Time to clarify. As of Friday evening there were five people who had expressed a firm interest. One has since confirmed he's no longer interested and I've seen another has bought something else, so I guess he's out too. No contact from the other three. So, still available.

Whereas I would say go for the 17dB! I've tried 9dB, 15db and 30dB over the years in my Elacin plugs, and the 15dB are easily the best balance between protection and still enjoying the music! The 30dB ones work great when I'm in the audience though!
This sound likek my Streamliner thread. I just had to keep withdrawing it. Some gigs it worked really well, others it didnt. End of the day i had something i liked a bit better so one had to go. I do sometimes think the wrong one went. The Streamliner is a fantastic head and i really miss how much authority each note gets with this head. Whoever buys this is in for a treat.
Couldn't agree more. As I said, it's a lovely head but just more power than I need, and as such I'd rather release some £. The waiting list has now reached five Basschatters!
The Bass V is not one of mine, although like you, I've always fancied one, for curiosity value only i suspect. I think 5 mins after buying it, I'd probably question what possessed me. They are lovely looking instruments though, and the shortscale makes it interesting, one day maybe, it would have to be a dot neck sunburst though. I nearly bought one from new york a few years ago, but it didnt have the impossible to find bridge cover or case, and i'm a bit obsessed with things being 'right', so passed on it, was great value though.
Yes, that's sort of my impression of them too, but I thought they were 34" scale?
Just noticed you have a Fretless Precision, after my previous reply! To add to that, i think my lack of musical ability with the instrument I love, was the main factor in me not quite knowing what to do with it, rather than the instrument itself!
I do indeed, and a lovely bass it is too! Am selling a '73 fretless too, which I had put out as trade bait for the bass you have for offer here, but now I understand why you wouldn't be interested!
