1. OBBM has at least one of these, I'm sure he'll be along in a bit
2.
Im looking to sell it.
Tell me more...
3.
Thanks Daf. I took the bass up to my luthier (!) who is doing stuff to it and installing the spiros (thanks Gareth). I am no great fan of spiros but they will do for now and I might go for a set of the solo Inno string tuned to concert when I am happy with the setup of the instrument.
Where's the thumbs up icon when you need it! Cheers Owen, I hope they do a job for you.
4.
Perhaps it helped that I'd just bought the Little Bastard + cab from them or perhaps you spoke to the wrong guy
Didn't realise you can buy direct from Ashdown!
5. I'm a recent convert to Ashdown, but Guy has always been fantastic responding to the barrage of emails I've sent to him.
They could not have been more helpful when I wanted to 'update' my Mini48 cab to look the same as my Little Bastard cab.
That's funny, as when I asked the same question they weren't willing to help!
6. I had the very same setup as my first "proper" rig. Top notch stuff and eminently giggable. Amazed it's still here as that price is a STEAL!
7. Not an exact fit, but how about this mixer bag from Gator?
8. Has anyone noticed scracthy a scratchy volume pot on the Streamliner? I saw on TB that this is quite common?
9. I have a Streamliner 600 on demo from The Gallery at the moment and I must say I absolutely love it, as do the band. The tone is great, it sits in the live mix beautifully, and there is real heft to the notes. Pretty sure I will be buying it.
10.
link doesn't work on my Mac
Nor my PC. Keen to do this survey though!
11. I am coming around to the opinion that the CXL112 is my favourite gigging cab - the perfect balance of size, power and tone. I love these cabs. I'd take them if my Ashdown Mini Neos would sell.
12.
I like the low B..but then again I generally prefer a low B to a high C on fretted too.I think the main reason is just because the low B is more practical in the majority of situations. The high C is great if you are playing more solo and chordal stuff.
+1 to this. Holds true for fretted 5s as well IMHO.
13. My Veillette Paris is still here....
14. Thanks guys! All academic anyway as I now have an LB212.
15.
Get it repaired at Wembley loudspeakers. At least you know when repaired it will match the other 3. http://www.wembleyloudspeaker.com/
Thanks that is a good idea. Probably cheaper than buying new too, even if I could source one!
16.
If Ashdown are not going to help (which is a shame, because their spare parts prices are reasonable) you are reliant on Hotrox to get you one. It shouldn't be too expensive - £65 at a very rough guess. You might also like to try JHS in Leeds, as it seems HK Audio also use exactly the same driver in one of their products and they might have one in stock. I'm assuming you've checked the cab wiring, just in case ......
Thanks for this. What should I be looking for in the wiring?
17. Hi guys Thanks for all the help. Having had the driver out I can confirm based on the markings on it that it is a Z005190, spec here.
18.
Have they discontinued the cabs?! Surely they can source you a replacement?!
Yes, these cabs are discontinued. I assume they have no spares in stock, otherwise I would hope they would have offered me one, so it can only be that the price of neodymium skyrocketing is scaring them off buying any!
19. GUy has told me that one I suggested is a very good replacement, so I guess that's what I go for if i) I can find one ii) it isn't silly expensive!
20.
Could they give you a spec?
I will certainly ask!
21. Oops, yes I have, and was told they won't be able to help with a direct replacement.
22. I think one of the drivers in my Ashdown Neo 4x8 is on the fritz, so I'm investigating a replacement for it. The fitted driver is made by Sica, 8 ohms impedance, and I assume rated 250 watts given that the cab is 1000 watts. There's only one 8" driver on their site, the PL8B25S, so that would seem the obvious candidate, but the thing is I can't see any of these anywhere online (I have an email into HotRox, their UK dealer), so I was wondering if anyone could recommend a suitable alternative? Cheers Gareth
