1. I so want this, but sadly have no readies
 2. I don't think there is a "best" anything, as it's so subjective, but a lot of people, me included, have a soft spot for anything in the late 80s Series 6 range. The valve stuff (Quatra/Hexa/GP12XV etc.) from just after that era (around the time the SMX stuff came out IIRC) is also really nice, yet clearly different. The later, Gibson era stuff, is less special IMHO. I wonder if a better question might be "which items might give me the sound I hear in my head?" Cheers Gareth
 3. Wow, I feel a Neil Murray moment coming on.....
 4. Hello all You've missed the M300 head and the 8B cab, so I just have the fabulous PJB 6B Neo Power cab left. 6B cab

Sensitivity: 95dB/W/M
Impedance: 6 ohm
Frequency Response: 35Hz - 15KHz
Power: 300W
Size: 15.8 x 17.7 x 23 inch ( W x D x H)
Weight: 46 lbs / 21 kg
£325 collected. Price includes a lovely padded cover by Hotcovers that cost me £41 and now also a PJB speaker cable (£40). Thanks Gareth
 5. bump, still very keen to take a nice bass in exchange
 6.
I predict a riot
I was going to say that!
 7. If my 9yo daughter designed a bass, it would probably look like this.
 8.
I know nowt about vintage Fender values... but it's getting silly, isn't it?
There was one of these in The Gallery for ages, a mint sunburst 66, that went for around £2k in the end I think.
 9.
there are only three in the UK at Chandler's, Charlies place and another but I am sure someone will fill it in!!
Paul Herman's new Wal workshop in Fetcham, Surrey, I believe. Certainly had one there about 18 months ago.
 10. bump will also consider trades for a nice Fender P or PJ, a Fender Jaguar, or an Epiphone Jack Casady
 11.
I think the bridge cover is correct. It looks real to me. The question would be over whether the seller actually has such a rare bass but the feedback is excellent.
Exactly. I hope it really is real. As an aside, when I was at the new Wal workshop not so long ago, Paul was doing a white refin on a Bass V. My first thought when I saw this bass was that this was it, but I guess not unless it has been reliced.
 12.
Maybe I'm a complete sap, but that V looks alright to me, apart from the bridge cover. Ad's a bit over-caveatted, perhaps.
That was sort of how I felt as well; 100% positive on over 1000 transactions should count for something! And I thought that bridge cover is correct for this bass?
 13. Someone needs to email and ask if buyer can pay cash on collection
 14. Hello all Having just upgraded to a PJB 8B cab, it’s time to sell my fantastic 6B cab. I’ve had this cab for a year and it has been terrific. It’s been gigged about once a month, but everything is in perfect condition and works faultlessly. • Sensitivity: 95dB/W/M • Impedance: 6 ohm • Frequency Response: 35Hz - 15KHz • Power: 300W • Size: 15.8 x 17.7 x 23 inch ( W x D x H) • Weight: 46 lbs / 21 kg The cab has a street price of £529 and I will also include a custom made and very nice padded cover from Hot Covers that cost £41; total purchase price £570. I’d like a firm £400 for both. Buyer collects from NE Hampshire, or I can meet halfway if local(ish), or I can post at your cost in the 8B box. Thanks Gareth
 15. Up for sale is a D'Addario XL Nickel Wound low B .125, tapered at ball end. 34" scale. I no longer have need of this string. It's new and unused in the box. Strings Direct sell them for £7.95; I'll do it for the same but including 1st class post. Would also trade for the same string but in the non-tapered version. Cheers Gareth
 16. Love these. My first "proper" amp was one of these; add a 1x15 underneath and silly loud. Bargainalicious bump!
 17.
The Phil jones rig, m300 with 6b, has a real hifi sound but lacks that bass cab bloom must of us like. If I switch to the Epifani cab the sound opens up with lots more bass and treble.
You hear the bass differently with PJB cabs when you're next to them; much less of an issue when there's some distance between you. Bumnote has had success standing to the side of his cabs rather than in right in front, perhaps try that?
