Hi there The Jag has a much more versatile eq setup, so you really should be able to get a far wider variety of sounds out of it than the SUB. I'd stick with it and try all the different combinations you possibly can. For example, I'd imagine running the pickups in series, with a bit of extra bass and treble boost from the active circuit and panned slightly to the bridge pickup, should give you a really good sound. Best of luck Gareth

I just bought one of these off eBay. It's nice, soft yet sturdy, and literally brand new. However, I've decided to get two straps from Harvest instead so am selling this for the cost of the strap but will cover postage, so £7.99 posted 2nd class.

Just go ahead and declare it. One thought though, is the ad still on Craigslist? If it is you could just print a copy of that out and show them. Alternatively, contacting the seller and having him confirm the purhcase and price is a good idea. Cheers Gareth

Ville is a terrific guy. He bought my Demeter/Peavey rack and was fantastic to deal with. Totally trustworthy and very highly recommended. Gareth
Do these have any other covering apart from metal? I love my Innovation Rockabillys but cannot bow them. I'm guessing these are Rockabillys with no black wrap?
Hi Owen Same braided Kevlar core as Roackabillys, but a half round clear nylon overspin they have. I think they are fantastic strings! Cheers Gareth -
Hi I had the same problem until I bought a two channel amp. So, and it's a shameless plug, you need something like this. Cheers Gareth

My Veillette fretted wears Hipshot mono bridge units as below, and the saddles are cut for taper core strings. Now, the bass is currently wearing Ken Smith nickel taper cores, but the B string is too long and some of the actual string wraps around the headstock; I want to find a make of string that avoids this. The distance from the ball end to just short of the B string tuner is 36.5"; anyone know of any taper core B strings that'll fit? Also, nickels sound a bit "dark" on this bass, so I'm happy to go to steel. Must be roundwound too. DR Long Necks? La Bella Super Steps? What else is out there? Cheers Garteh

I have played two Foderas. Both were nicely put together but didn't really sound that special....

Bought a DVD from me. As they say on eBay "Good Comms and Fast Payment". Thoroughly recommended.

I can't recommend Phil at Hot Covers highly enough. I needed a cover for my Phil Jones 6B cab. He sent me a sample of the material he uses (terrific stuff) and then had me supply the dimensions to an accurate diagram of the cab he'd produced as he hadn't made a cover for this cab before. The cover arrived soon after and was really made, but as it was a bit loose Phil asked for pictures to see where the problems were, and he adjusted it for free. It's now perfect, and he even asked for more pictures to confirm it was a good fit! Excellent quality and highly recommended. Cheers Gareth
Who else was in the band Gareth? I'm from Oxshott originally so knew loads of people around there. My Mum's in a nursing home in Cobham (just past the petrol station on Stoke Rd) so I'm up there visiting pretty often.
Hi Phil Well, small world eh? I grew up in Oxshott too, moving to Stoke d'Abernon when I was 11. We lived on The Chase off Wren's Hill; went to Royal Kent, and then on to St Andrews in Cobham. The band was: Nic Ford on guitar, Ric Phillips on Drums, and Phillipa Grundon and Lisa Tickner shared vocals. Ring any bells? Cheers Gareth -

First song I ever played was an end of year school concert, Cobham in Surrey, 1981. The song was "Since You Been Gone" by Rainbow, and I was playing a blond Satellite (remember them?) P bass with maple fingerboard and black nylon strings through an HH Bass Machine Combo. I remember it really clearly, and can still recall the names of the rest of the band too! Cheers Gareth -
Thanks for the comments guys!
What conventional configuration are those cabs analgous to? The head looks heavy?
PJB says that four of the 5" drivers approximate to to a normal 10" driver with a 4" voice coil, and I was told by them that the 6B is equivalent to a 1x12, but with a really big voice coil! Also, the cabs are a decent size - about the size of a 2x10 but much deeper - so the amount of energy and volume of air being moved is really very good. The amp is a substantial 29lb/14kg. It's certainly no micro head, but it's perfectly managable and has a reassursing solidity about it.
That PJ rig looks like absolutely amazing quality. That alone attracts me to it. I can only imagine is sounds immense
The build quality is superlative, and that was one of the things that attracted me to it. PJB build nearly everything in house, right down to the bolts, and their QC is first class!

Thanks for the PJB love guys.
Why do they have the 2nd power input on the rear ?
It's an power output actually, so you can run an fx unit or other ancillary kit. Quite a nifty idea!

Hi Chris And don't forget the Eminence 4 that's on commission at The Gallery. It's been there for £1699 for some time now, so the owner may be open to offers? Cheers Gareth -
