The Doubler version has some extra upright friendly features for sure, but they both work perfectly well with electric basses. I had a Micro and it was lovely. Really crisp and clean sound, and as long as you get the gain set up right it can go quite loud. It's not a "ballsy" amp though, it only really does clean. I sold it because I went for a tube preamp, but now I'm full circle as I've gone clean again with a PJB rig. My advice would be to try a Micro if at all possible, just to be sure it has the sound and volume you want. Cheers Gareth

Looks like a medium scale E string was packed with a long scale set to me. I've never had that problem with the La Bella sets I've used in the past or now.

Hi there The Jag has a much more versatile eq setup, so you really should be able to get a far wider variety of sounds out of it than the SUB. I'd stick with it and try all the different combinations you possibly can. For example, I'd imagine running the pickups in series, with a bit of extra bass and treble boost from the active circuit and panned slightly to the bridge pickup, should give you a really good sound.
