Hello all The lead singer in my band is a bit of a multi-instrumentalist, and plays the following instruments at most gigs: 2 x Acoustic Guitars, 1 x Resonator and 1 Mandolin, each of which have active preamps in them 1 x Banjo, which has a passive limpet pickup on the skin These all go direct into the PA mixer, so obviously take up a lot of channels (which are at a premium) and are a real fuss to set up given the amount of leads strewn all over the place, and especially the varying gain levels involved, so we were wondering about giving him a mini-mixer to use on stage. So, the question is, can anyone recommend a 5 or 6 channel mixer that has 1/4" jack inputs and, ideally, mute buttons for each channel? We're not looking to spend huge money on this, maybe £150ish, but any advice would be most welcome. Cheers Gareth

Amp worked very well - one 8 ohm cab per side - and it was very loud as already noted. At the soundcheck I deliberately gave the amp a hard workout and was really pleased with how it responded.

Gwilym had one but I think he sold it. Might be worth dropping him a line.

The BSRJ was Ken's first attempt at a less bling and J bass version of his US-made basses. They are very well made, as are all of Ken's US basses, have a good core tone and maintain the Smith reputation. They don't sound like his basses that have the soapbars in them, but you wouldn't expect them too. As to a price, personally, given their bolt on nature and simpler woods etc, I would say something less than £2k tops for a mint condition one. Hope that helps Gareth

I'm using one. It's very light and has the potential to go very very loud. Seems to be usual PV reliability so far.

I believe the much vaunted original series Squier basses from the mid to late 80s had this. Really good basses.

Quick update. Used the amp at rehearsal last night - single channel into one Euphonic Audio CXL112 - and it was plenty loud enough. Tone is big and clean. Everyone loved the lights
