  1. Fitted the Fret Nation six position rotary switch to my Dingwall today and WOW what a difference it makes!  It was fiddly to do, but well worth it.

  2. Two cabs from the German maker FMC here. A compact 8ohm 112UL for rehearsals and small gigs, and a more powerful 4ohm 1210UL for big stuff.
  3. A pair of very nice Gator gig bags. They are used but certainly not abused, and there are no rips or stains anywhere. I have added extra foam to the detachable cushions go give even more protection. £80 new, I'm looking for £50 each posted in the UK, or £90 if you take both
  4. I almost always run my amps flat and tweak on the bass, normally just by panning between the pickups, so not an issue.
  5. I actually use the three preset channels rather than the "front panel". They are all set the same apart from the combination of effects used, ensuring gain and compression remain constant.
  6. I appreciate Franz basses are a relatively unknown quantity in the UK, so I will drop the price to £1800, which is basically a third off new.
  7. Shameless plug: This fits it perfectly.
  8. My work is done 👍🏻
  9. Wow that’s some high tension!
  10. BRAND NEW AND NOW £30 POSTED Tiny Tone light mint scratchplate, new and unused, to fit three pickup NG or Combustion 5 string The mint is hard to photograph well, but it's a little more minty than in the picture
  11. What did you go for? I looked at the Dingwall strings on my NG and this is what the calculator came out with.
  12. Sorry, this body shape is just as bad as the others IMO. Can’t fault the craftsmanship though.
  13. Another 34.5" custom bass! Check out the D'Addario string tension calculator. It really helps work out what gauges you need according to scale and tuning.
  14. Glad to be of help. They are on a 34.5" scale custom bass from Germany. Funnily enough I have since put together a custom set of 42/55/75/100/135 D'Addario singles for another bass, and they are even better!
  15. Just tested and confirm global EQ does indeed work on all settings.
  16. I believe so yes. My MS3 had a similar global EQ and that definitely worked on all the effects presets.
  17. I'd forgotten about that. Good call.
  18. I’m out. Golf club dinner dance ❤️
  19. Wal were still based in Chairborough Road in 1988, rather than Leigh Court, so maybe it went in for a service at some point once Pete moved operations and a new sticker was applied?
  20. With that budget you have a vast array of basses available to you, and the quality of mass produced basses is so good now you don't have to spend a lot to get something really good. That said, there are still some dogs out there; the first Sire P8 I had was very heavy and had dodgy electrics, the second was an absolutely superb bass! Used handmade basses like ACG, or the German Franz I am selling (see my signature below), are superb instruments, but then you can also buy a new Sire, Dingwall, Lakland. I guess the best option is to try and narrow down what you are looking for and then try some basses out. It's a nice problem to have Good luck!
  21. The shoulder straps are stowed behind it.
  22. Hello! Just down the road in Alton here
