  2. Don't forget Elrick. I had two of his basses and they were lovely... The Marleaux M Bass also looks lovely.
  3. I'd recommend the Elixir acoustic bass strings. They are expensive but they last for ages, feel great, sound great and almost eliminate "finger squeak"!
  4. Three flat top Precision bass style chrome knobs. Used but look to be in very good condition. £15 posted?

  6. Having been told at the start of last month that I had a buyer for the cosmo black set he's now backed out, so they are back on the market.
  7. I love this bass, I really do, but I must thin the herd so like the 66 Jazz this one must go. This is a beautiful Martin bass from the early 1990s, most likely 1992 with: [list] [*]solid spruce top and truly stunning solid Indian rosewood back and sides [*]cutaway on the lower horn [*]unusual oval soundhole [*]Fishman pickup under the bridge (no volume or tone controls) with output jack in chrome tailpiece [*]white and black binding [/list] Really nice and unusual example of an early Martin acoustic bass. Fantastic condition apart from a small crack in the lacquer by the cutaway (you can see this in the picture). Comes with original hard shell case, plus a Martin leather strap, Martin polish and polishing cloths, original hang tag and spare set of bridge pins. Currently strung with Elixir strings. Lovely tone to this bass both acoustically and plugged in. It's quite loud as well. Aiming for [b]£800[/b] plus whatever shipping is needed. No low ball offers and no trades thanks. Gareth

Bravewood, while they are great basses, are not that well known in the UK let alone overseas, so I can understand buyer apprehension.   12. Rule of thumb is always try the passive jack first. If there's no distortion, especially when you dig in and play hard, then just keep using it. Looking at your amp it appears there is no gain control. If that's the case set your amp up just as you like it (i.e. compression, eq etc) and then plug your bass into the passive jack and play as hard as you can. If there's no distortion you're all set, but if there is either modify your settings (i.e. reduce your bass in the eq or increase compression) or switch to active. If your bass has no actives on board you should be able to use the passive jack no problem at any setting, it's only where you have active eq in the bass that things get complicated. Best of luck!
