1. An Epi UL 210 on top should be all you need.
 2. I have owned two of these in the past (though not at the same time, as that'd just be greedy) and they were both great basses. I always found them to be more powerful than most passive basses, and the low Bs were "mos' righteous". Highly recommended.
 3. Three basses (two Mk 1s and a Mk 3) have sold on eBay in the last week, all for £2k+! Interestingly, the Mk 3 went for the "smallest", which I guess means people regard the Mk 1 as the "classic" Wal to have. I think this is all to do with Pete retiring, and the uncertainty for future production that this has created, but from what I understand the Wal marque will continue, and importantly be in very good hands, when it does resurface. Cheers Gareth
 4. Still available? Case?
 5. Just the pickup left now: bridge pickup, dated July 1966 - £180
 6.
I've seen the Epifani ps 600 for bout $1000 on the US websites, but all of 899 pounds over here!! Does anyone know if this is even worth checking out?
Hi Harry Yep, I have one and it's a great piece of kit. Every bit as good as the UL series (I should know, I had one of them too), just one channel and different cosmetics. If you want the Epi sound this will give it to you. Cheers Gareth

 9. Yes they're all good. You can hear my band playing a few, both demo and live, here. I've been in this band seven years and I never tire of playing these basslines, and luckily the audience never tire of them either! Gareth PS Forgive the backing vox on some of the live trax - extra backing singers brought in for that gig and they hadn't sorted their harmonies totally
 10.
This is what's left:

neck + tuners £900
bridge pickup £220
neckplate and screws £100

Still here. Shall I split the neck and tuners? £600 and £300 respectively if any interest. NB: One screw will be missing from the tuners; it obviously sheared off at some point!
 11.
Just found one more set: nickel 45/65/85/105 £16.50 posted
And now sold. All gone and thanks to everyone who bought.
 12.
I agree that the seller's comments don't make much sense but I'm guessing a PM or two would sort it out? The modifications do take something away from the 'mystique' of the bass, being a really early model, but it's still nice to see one of these become available..
I emailed him yesterday morning and am still waiting for a response.

 14.
Wal JG Custom Pro II - 1978 Natural Model JG1115 built for Alec Kouyoumjian a bit of work on it possible: the leather pickguard is not the original one, and I think the last owner glued it and the trussrod maybe to change. 3000€
I am definitely interested in this bass, please put me at the top of the queue while we talk some more about it! Thanks Gareth

 16.
Great strings but certainly not gonna give you old school thump
Well they gave me more old skool thump than a set of rounds do Chris, but I take your point! I think the thing is I just don't get on with that instant decay flats usually have - I realised I just like nice zingy roundwounds that sustain, so that's what I'll stick!!!!!
 17.
When im playing, my wrist feels very tense and uncomfortable. It doesnt hurt,it just feels under pressure. I try to play with a straighter wrist by lifting my elbow up, but its hard to maintain, and when im concentrating seems to fall back into this bent wrist position.
Hi there I think this is something all players go through. There is no right or wrong, and I am not qualified in such things so this is just what has worked for me, but there are certainly some things you can do to maximise the comfort, both short- and long-term, that will make sure you can keep playing. First of all, do you stretch and warm up your arms and hands before you play? If not I find it makes a big difference. A great simple exercise is to put your palms together, fingers facing up as if praying, and then just move your wrists down while keeping your palms together. Second, ideally your wrists should be straight. The optimum height for your bass therefore is when your wrists are both straight when you play; anything else and you run the risk of CTS. How you wear the bass across your body (i.e. flat across the chest or with the neck out in front of you) can affect this so try it both ways. Third, avoid resting the forearm of your plucking hand on the body of the bass. Fourth, use a wide (say 3.5") strap. This will spread the weight of the bass and reduce the likelihood of bad posture adversely affecting your playing. Related to this, have you adjusted your strap since you changed to the bigger body shape? It may be worth revisiting the ergonomics of your whole setup? I hope this helps. Gareth
 18. All gone now. Thanks to those that bought.
