  1. How about a spot of Black and Blue?
  2. Ah sorry, completely missed the current @Reggaebass!
  3. You need 9V, centre negative, 100mA minimum, so that unit is fine if the polarity is correct.
  4. Yes they are great, but they would have had to be installed at an angle on my board, which I didn’t want.
  5. I sold Martin a Gator gig bag. Super smooth transaction, and I would happily deal with him again.
  6. Well, all I know is they appear to be a better all round pot than the All Parts they've replaced.....
  7. I've just replaced the pots in my fretless with CTS 450 Series and I am astonished at how much they have improved the sound. The pots are quite firm to turn, which may be because they are new, but I like it as it means they hold position once set. The bass sound seems to have a much richer tone. I am really impressed. For reference, the original pots were branded All Parts but made by CTS.
  8. I picked the clips up on eBay here (small and medium sizes). I was concerned that the adhesive wouldn't be strong enough but they've been rock solid. The Van Damme cable is very nice. I also have Custom Lynx for the TRS and that's decent too. The Van Damme is snug in the SP 400s, which is good and it means there's no flex at the joint. I think SP500s would work too with the Van Damme.
  9. Super excited to have finished my first real pedalboard at the weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed this project and am really pleased with how it turned out. The board started with my Boss MS-3 as the heart of the setup, and I added items as follows: Tonetrunk 45 Pedalboard - Just the right size and very sturdy Bright Onions A/B with Volume - I use fretted and fretless at virtually every gig so an A/B switch makes changing easy, and the volume control ensures their outputs are balanced. Providence Bass Boot Comp - This is a transparent compressor that suits my playing well. Placed in Loop 1, it sits in front of all other effects(apart from when I use the MS-3's wahs). Having the compressor in Loop 1 keeps more options open for the internal effects. EBS Billy Sheehan Signature Drive Deluxe - While the MS-3 has lots of drives in it, I wanted something with a really nice core low drive tone and the EBS fits the bill well. If I want more dirt I can add something in from the MS-3. This is in Loop 2. Bright Onions Quad Momentary Footswitch - Currently set up as up/down banks, tuner, and tap BPM I went for the lowest profile jacks I could find. I used KMMK Squareplug SP400 and SP5 jacks for the mono cables, soldering them toghether using Van Damme Pro Patch Lite cable and testing them all for reistance with a multimeter. The TRS jacks were made for me by Practical Patch, who had just received a shipment of the stubby jacks from Creation Music in the US. The pedals are secured using 3M Dual Lock rather than velcro, and all cables are held in place with clips. Under the board I tried to keep everything as tidy as possible and ensure power cables were kept away from signal cables. Power comes from a Rockboard LT XL - This means no need for a mains lead, which is terrific, and so far I'm getting a good 4 to 5 hours of constant use from it between charges, which is more than enough for a gig. Lastly, we have a 2 socket patchbay from Pedalpatch. One slot takes the signal from the MS-3 out to the amp, the other has a USB socket to make charging the Rockboard PSU easier. P.S. Sorry about the dodgy carpet.
  10. Evening all I'd like to put a new set of pots in a bass that currently uses two EP4985 250K linear split shaft pots. The pots are made by CTS for All Parts. I find the pots go scratchy really quickly, so I was wondering if CTS make a better quality version of the pot to the same spec and shaft length Thanks Gareth
  11. If anyone needs short TRS straight jacks I think these are the smallest out there. They are available from Creation Music Company in the US, but I had mine made up by Practical Patch here in the UK. You can see how small they are in comparison to the KMMK Squareplug mono jacks. Both good options if you have limited real estate on your pedalboard.
  12. Looks like a classic 70s chop job to me, in the nicest possible way of course! NM was my absolute favourite bass player when I was a lad and Whitesnake were still in their pre-hair phase: the Mark II lineup was a classic. Not only was Neil a great player, adding wonderfully lyrical yet muscualr basslines to the records, but he always had great tone and was mixed nice and high on the records too.
  13. I sold Steve a patch cable set. A simple deal but it was done right with great comms, prompt payment. I would very happily deal with him again.
  14. New and unused in box, this bracket is designed to attach a power supply to a T-Rex pedalboard. It fits Fuel Tank Junior/Classic/Chameleon and Pedal Power 2 plus, but of course you could also attach lots of other brand PSUs to it as well. T-Rex pedalboards have pre-drilled holes for attaching the bracket. Comes with four screws, an allen key, and a self-adhesive rubber mat which can be attached to the bracket if the height of the power supply is less than 34 mm. Price is posted.
  15. NOW £45 POSTED Custom made for me by Bright Onions, this pedal combines their A/B with volume switcher with a dual momentary latching footswitch (labelled "up/down" for changing banks, but could be used for any momentary latching setup). The rear latching switch is set higher on the pedal to make tapping easier. Saves a bit of space on the board. New and unused, save for testing. Cost me £67, but selling for £50 posted.
  16. How about replacing the VMT with the Sheehan SIgnature Deluxe, then you can have your regular overdrive and kick in the (internally adjustable from +3 to 10dB) when you want a bit, or a lot, more? Or you could even put another drive pedal in the drive loop?
  17. Have you tried a different order for your pedals? Perhaps try: tuner, compresssor, VMT, octaver, filter.
  18. As I understand it, decoupling the cab from the floor can reduce the boom in your booty.
  19. Looks like I have a pedal stalled somewhere in the Netherlands with PostNL :(

Thanks for that @umcoo, slightly reassuring to hear.  It's now been 7 days without a change of location, so fingers crossed something happens soon!

Another week and no further updates :(

  20. I've decided to put my new found soldering skills to use and make myself some soldered patch cables, so I have two EBS TRS patch cables for sale. Both new and unused. These would cost £13 to buy at retail, so save a few quid and buy from me instead at £10 posted the pair.
