  1. "All boxed up and ready to ship with a price drop for the weekend" type bump
  2. The D2 is the new big brother to the NY121. I understand that it has a superior tweeter. It's quite a lot bigger though, so if matching cab sizes is important to you it may not be the one. You could also consider the TRV112, which has the same footprint as the combo if you set it up in "portrait" mode. I would still say that the Marcus head is far more versatile than the LM, so if you can upgrade that as well at some point that would be cool.
  3. Both are great, but the 800 is the one I’d go for every day of the week.
  4. The Marcus is a fantastic amp that would only made a good combo better.
  5. I haven't seen "Devs", but I was watching an episode of "The Expanse" last night and was surprised to hear Purple's "Highway Star" used, twice, in space travel scenes. Worked well though!
  6. I see Guy Pratt's brace of CL310s from the last SFOS tour have appeared in the B-stock pages.
  7. Well you are most welcome to try mine when we get out of lockdown, assuming it hasn’t sold by then. Oh and the Baers are front-ported, not sealed.
  8. If it's any help I tried my Baer with a Markbass TRV112 and it sounded terrific.
  9. Another smooth deal with Mike. He's a good 'un!
  10. Might it be cheaper and easier to buy a preamp or eq pedal?
  11. Yep, that’s not a problem at all. In fact that was my original plan when I was thinking a pair of 12s.
  12. Yes, they do. Drop Hans an email and tell him what you want and he'll guide you. Look for "MH" designations on this page. Cheers Gareth
  13. Excellent. I was tempted by the cab too, but in the end went down a different path. I find the bass and feedback knobs have the biggest influence on the tone of the LS. Gain is quite senstive, and there's a big jump in volume with the Master at about 1pm on mine.
  14. Nice. Isn't this parlor size and short scale?
  15. Thanks Mert, but tbh I can't justify it either!
  16. I've always loved the look of the Drophead 200....
  17. Selling off some DB bits I no longer need. The rosin is clearly used, but the other bits are new. 1 x Nyman Harts rosin 1 x Carlsson rosin 4 x Gewa rubber end pin covers 1 x Wolf Super Endpin 1 x Dictum anti-slip floor protector £30 posted
  18. Nice. A simple, straightforward, no frills bass.
  19. I've had the same set of La Bella white nylons on my fretless for three years, and they haven't worn at all.
  20. Beautiful soft nappa leather strap from Harvest Leather. This is 9cm wide and wonderfully soft. This is the short version, adjustable from 103 cm to 122 cm. Light use, straplok marks but overall superb condition. There is no UK dealer. A new one from Germany would cost 60 euros plus potage, but this one is yours for £40 posted 2nd Class Recorded
  21. The obvious switch is to the standard guage white nylons by La Bella. They are higher tension, but not by much. Other than that, I would say d'Addario nylon flats are higher tension than La Bella, but not so sure about other brands.
  22. Pressing at the first fret, I go for 1.5mm on the G and 2.25mm on the E at the 12th fret, with about .25mm relief at the 9th fret. This is my starting point, which I then tweak to taste as needed.
  23. I tend to pick them up over time from the reputable dealers on eBay. As you say 81s and 82s are easy to get and quite cheap, but finding decent 83s takes some looking. I don't pay silly money for them though. I think they change the sound for the better. VIntage Mullards, in fact most old production valves, just have a warmth to them that I don't hear in modern valves.
