I much prefer the La Bella nylons to the D'Addario ones, as I prefer the heavier gauge and lower tension. Copper Whites are my favourite, but they have stopped doing them in extra long scale so I now use White Nylons on my fretless, and yes, they are brighter.

I think that although these two are of a particular time, their themes are as relevant today as they were then... which is a sad indictment really.

I think because, they are such fundamentally different instruments, I have less problem switching between fretless and upright than I do between fretless and fretted!

No worries. What would BC be without a little thread derailment now and then? I tried the jacks but didn't check the ground lift. Anyway, it doesn't matter now as the retailer has arranged for it to go to Real Electronics for a warranty repair. Hopefully they can turn it round quickly!

Can't hear the clicking in the phones out or on either of the line outs, so maybe something up somewhere else? Can still hear it if I take a line out from my combo and run that into the fx returns...

Excited to give this a spin tonight! I play two basses on pretty much every gig, so something that allows me to swap between them with the minimum of fuss is a win in my eyes. Built-in tuner, boost function and effects all switchable from the MIDI footswitch add to the fun. I doubt I'll use the mix function much, but it's good to have it available. Yes, the EQ is fairly limited, but I'm hoping the 12 amp models will provide me with a good core sound for each of my basses and then I can just tweak.
