  1. Nor did I. Close up shots look amazing, full body images not so much...
  2. Happy Christmas Team BC :drinks:

  3. As a bass player, probably easily enough, but as a bass player who also sings harmony bass parts on a lot of our songs and lead vocals on some songs.... not so much.
  4. I'm waiting on @Tjhooker to confirm if he wants them right now. Hopefully confirm status shortly.
  5. Indeed! I would never ship a bass without extra insurance that actually works!
  6. I posted a bass in a semi-rigid gig bag inside a proper bass shipping cardboard box last week for £21 plus £5 for proper insurance with Securesus. Total weight was 12kg and I used Parcelforce 24.
  7. It looks to me like it's already been refinished, just without any colour matching? If it's a decent enough repair I'd be inclined to leave it and chalk it up to "mojo".
  8. I would love a Spector PJ5, but I am so used to 19mm bridge spacing at the bridge I think it would feel very cramped.
  9. Early Ken Smith basses too I believe.
  10. Another super smooth sale to Mike. He's a good 'un!
  11. I haven't found this to be an issue. I use a (1x12 + 1x10) 4ohm cab rated at 600 watts and the amp is more than capable of keeping up. I never go through the PA unless the venue is larger than your typical pub or club, and have yet to find an occasion where this amp is lacking. I get this. As I've said before, the amp isn't really for live work unless you are happy with spending some time tweaking the amp to get the sounds you like set up. I have settled on chorus, octave and envelope filter as my live effects, and I'm fine with that, especially with the compression and drive on tap as well. Indeed. My amp doesn't do this!
  12. Bought back in May of this year, this is the latest in a long line of Heistercamp straps I've owned. I'm only selling as it's lined in red, which isn't a good match with my current basses (fickle, I know). The strap is in superb condition, with the only marks on it from where the straplocks were attached. The leather used is wonderfully soft; this is about as premium as it gets! The spec is as follows: Model: Leedon Tor Leather Finish: Super Soft Leather Colour: Black Lining: Smooth Leather Lining Colour: Red Stitching Colour: Black Strap Length: 48" (43" - 56") Medium Strap Width: 3" (+£6.00) Buttonholes: Buttonhole - 8mm standard (both ends) The strap cost me £88 but I'm selling it for £50 posted 48 hour tracked in the UK. Thanks for looking.

  13. I'm curious to know if there are there any groundwounds out there that aren't "grabby"? I know pressurewounds are smoother and quieter than rounds, but they are harder to find that grounds, hence the question.
  14. We've come and gone over the years, but first gig dates with my current bandmates are as follows: Singer/guitarist - 1985 Drummer - 1985 Lead guitar -1989 Keys - 1991 We've been around a bit! 🤘
  15. As usual, I have bought and sold way more than I should have this year! My Boss Katana 500 amp would have won the best award until this arrived last week; my new Franz Merak. This is my third bass made by Xaver at Franzbassguitars and it's just as good as the others. Lovely thing. As to worst, honestly nothing really jumps out at me, so I would probably go with the Boss SYB synth pedal I bought and moved on as I just couldn't get a decent sound from it.
  16. This is probably more useful than me trying to describe how they sound.
  17. Paul bought my rather awesome Sire 5 string P. It was a super smooth deal with great comms and prompt payment. Very happy to recommend.
  18. These have been on my fretless for a while. The strings themselves are in good condition but the silks are quite worn now. The strings are super smooth and feel wonderful, and thanks to the synthetic core they have a lovely low tension. They do take a while for the tuning to stabilise, as the core keeps stretching initially, but the wait is worth it IMO. Bass Direct are selling these for £60, so I think £28 posted is reasonable for a used set.

  20. Used as a straight up amp it's very easy to dial in a good tone. With the feel, shape, compression, low and hi pass filters and cab calibration you can a really good core tone very quickly. It is also plenty loud enough. The effects are where it starts to get more complicated, and why I recommend the footswitch and/or the bluetooth add-on to really make it shine. As I've said before, I chose my three favourite effects and programmed them into one of the preset channels, and then turn them (plus the compression and the drive) on and off via the footswitches.
  21. What @Mudpup said. All the best.
  22. This bass is now sold. Thanks to all who expressed an interest.
  23. Taken straight off a new bass so never used. £20 posted in the UK.
