That's weird, and alarming! I use two Hercules stands but the only plastic on them is the foam padding. Hopefully I'll be safe but a good check to do each set up.

Anything other than side dots at the fret position do my head in!

Excellent choice. I've tried all sorts of switchers over the years (Bassbone, Providence, Bigshot etc.), but the one I've settled on is a simple Bright Onions pedal that was custom-made for me. For the money, a no-brainer!

Hej! Welcome to Basschat Magnus. My uncle was from Skåne (born and raised in Ystad, lived in Höör for many years) so I have been over to Sweden many times. Great place. Cheers Gareth

I owe DPD an apology, it was DHL who left it on the doorstep. The delivery on the website says "Signed for by temiel on Saturday 03rd August 2019 at 09:02. Comment: None" No idea who temiel is...

I came home last week to find DPD had left a £2.5k bass propped up against my front door......

I know them well. They're just down the road from me, literally, and yet I've had nothing but trouble with them on the two occasions I've had to use them.

Excellent signature cab made by Markbass for Alain Caron. The 3-way cab features a new custom 12" speaker with 800W power handling, a special new 5" speaker, and a new 1" compression driver. Very high fidelity cab: you really hear what your bass sounds like. The cab has been used very little and is in mint condition. It comes with a very nice "Hot Covers" padded cover (£46). These are £729ish new. I'm asking £500 £475 collected. IMPEDANCE : 8 ohms SPEAKER SIZE: 1x12" + 1x5" TWEETER: 1" coil compression tweeter BASS PORT: rear POWER HANDLING: 800W RMS CROSSOVER FREQUENCIES: 1.5 KHz / 5.5 KHz FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 40 Hz to 20 kHz SENSITIVITY: 99 dB SPL WEIGHT: 46.73 lbs / 21.2 Kg WIDTH: 14.9 in. / 38 cm DEPTH: 17.12 in. / 43.5 cm HEIGHT: 23.22 in. / 59 cm

PRICE DROP! £88 POSTED FOR ALL FOUR SETS!! I love these strings, but they aren’t quite long enough to fit my through-body 34.5” scale basses, so looking to move them on. Developed for Chicago Music Exchange by La Bella. Pure nickel roundwound wrap on a hex core. No silks at either end. 37" winding length Tension I would say is medium Tone is classic nickel: warm, with sweet highs Feel is wonderful; they are so smooth your fingers fly over them with much less squeak than normal rounds. New and unopened, I have four of the 45-130 sets available: £88 posted for the four or £24 posted per set. Thanks Gareth

Some serious thread derailment has occurred.....😯

Never gigged black leather strap from Pinegrove in Hebden Bridge. A lovely piece of thick but soft leather: should last for years. 3" wide and standard length, so adjustable from 38" to 54". Strap end holes are punched for Dunlop straplocks. These are £60 new, so this is a third off for what is essentially a new strap.

Current authorised repair in the UK is by Real Electronics in Sheffield. They charge a £35 fee to diagnose the fault and then advise how much repair will cost (parts and labour plus VAT and a £15 postage fee). They deduct the £35 from the repair bill if you use them to fix the issue.

Markbass CMD121 combo and NYC 151 cab
franzbassist replied to yorks5stringer's topic in Amps and Cabs
The 151 is about 8.5cm wider than the combo, so the latter should sit nicely atop the former. Should look something like this? Yes they won't match exactly, but does it really matter if it sounds good? I've mixed driver sizes many times over the years and never thought it sounded bad. More than anything, I think the 15 will just make your sound "bigger" and more rounded. If I was running said setup I'd dial the piezo out of one of the cabs entirely, probably the combo. I might also think about angling the combo up so that it becomes more like a monitor. This might also detract visually from the different speaker sizes -
The "B" in the neck stamp refers to the neck width, which is 1 5/8″
-
Very nice, but remember the 5 refers to the neck type (i.e. a P bass), not the day of the month.

Here's my Marcus Limited in situ at a gig. Does it really look that bad? And anyway, it sounds fantastic!

Enrico Pasini at Wood&Tronics makes some very good stuff. He's in Staranzano in the NE corner of the country

I know he's had a fair few endorsements over the years......

I have a Little Marcus 800 and love it. The five band EQ is superb, and the VLE is pretty much the same as the one found on the Litte Mark range (slightly different EQ points). The Millerizer function is a band pass filter than only passes frequencies between 5 and 12kHz. I find it to be very musical: it just adds a nice treble sheen to the sound IMO. That said, if I had the choice of a band pass filter or the para eq on the new version of the Marcus, I would choose the latter in a heartbeat.
