  1. Good spot. Now corrected.
  2. I wouldn't say a combo is trading "down", it's just different. There are some superb combos out there. As has been said, separates are more flexible in many ways, but in some situations a combo could be a better option. The Markbass Alain Caron Lite would be a good choice here (500+300 bi-amp combo, 36lbs), if you were absolutely set on a lightweight but loud combo, but I'd agree that getting a really nice powerful head would be a better option.
  3. A real workhorse cab. Good to very good condition. No badge on front. Roqsolid cover. IMPEDENCE 8 ohms SPEAKER SIZE 2x10" BASS PORT rear TWEETER piezo POWER HANDLING 400W RMS (AES Standard) CROSSOVER FREQUENCY 3.5 kHz FREQUENCY RESPONSE 45 Hz to 18 kHz SENSITIVITY 101 dB SPL WIDTH 23.4 in. / 59.4 cm HEIGHT 13 in. / 33 cm DEPTH 17 in. / 43.3 cm ACTUAL WEIGHT 17.8 KG / 39lbs These seem to go for £280 on BC, so that's what I'm asking. Collection from Alton or Portsmouth, but I also make frequent weekend trips to Cardiff. Reason for selling: I have recently acquired two NY121s, which are a better match to my fretless and upright.
  4. One for each bass, coloured to match, width appropriate to weight, and all slightly different lengths to suit the ergonomics of each instrument.
  5. 2017 Franz Sirius DC.
  6. Excellent bag that I've used very lightly. £129 new, I am looking for £90 posted. The usual Mono quality. You won't be disappointed
  7. Hampshire mainly, Cardiff alternate weekends
  8. This is Basschat defined in one sentence! 😂
  9. If you like the MB stuff I would highly recommend the STD102HF as an alternative to the TRV102. It's not that much bigger, size-wise, but sounds huge!
  10. That is a beautiful thing....
  11. I have -10, -17 and -26 filters and swap them as necessary according to the volume anticipated at the gig. Bassbod's comments are spot on.
  12. Hello Martin! You were an absolute legend at The Bass Centre and helped me part with a lot of money over the years! Hope you're keeping well. Are you still out in the Middle East? Cheers Gareth M
  13. I'm amazed this is still here. I recently picked up two of these and they sound superb.
  14. Franz bass guitars in Germany use a lot of thermo-threated, locally-sourced woods. The treatment makes for wonderfully light, resonant instruments! Both my Franz 5s have thermo ash necks with walnut stringers. This is the fretless And this is the fretted, which also has a thermo ash body. And the fretless also has a thermo maple top.
  15. At least they managed to spell accommodation correctly.......
  16. Nice work. Top notch customer service. 👍🏻🤘🏻
  17. If the body is already finished in an open pore method (i.e. oil and wax or somesuch), then using steam from an iron can lift broken wood fibres. If it's a hard poly finish or somesuch then sanding
  18. Yep, that ship has sailed.
  19. My first "proper" amp was one of these combos. Truly built like a tank and plenty loud enough. This looks to be in amazing condition, and with the footswitch and cover too!
  20. Time for an update. My wonderful Franz basses ❤️
  21. They aren't Schallers, they are Hipshot Ultralites.
  22. Ah Okay, it's just you said the pizz was okay so I assumed that wasn't the issue. Sounds like you need one of these, an adjustable bridge.
  23. So is the action high at the nut?
  24. I have both. My band's PA subs have lived in vinyl covers for about 5 years and they are still in great condition. My Markbass cab has the canvas covering and, although it's only a year old, it still looks as good as new. I wouldn't hesitate to use either, although if I had to choose I prefer the aesthetic of the canvas.
