  1. A big fat +1 to this. The La Bella white nylon strings are fab.
  2. I had one just like this, in a 5 Star Case just like this!
  3. Bought at Christmas and mint condition. Never even been out of the house. If you are unfamiliar with this item, they are designed so the amp is left inside the bag when in use, as both ends unzip and there are vent holes on the side so the fan can do its thing. Simple but very effective. Best price new is £54, which is what I paid. Get this one for £44 posted. Thanks for looking. Gareth
  4. That's wonderful news on both counts Nick. So pleased for you
  5. Not sure which one you ordered specifically, but the Big BladeMan 4 is only £135 in Bass Direct!
  6. Or even a Stubby 60, stacking two on top of each other...
  7. Indeed. What scale length do you need? I only ask as I have some 38" winding La Bella white nylons for sale if you fancy giving them a go?
  8. La Bella, Galli, GHS and Rotosound also do nylon flats. There are probably more out there too.
  9. They are quite regular contributors on BC. Agree it's good service on their part
  10. Starting to be listed in shops at £499. A feedback control though?
  11. There are quite a few out there if you look around. I personally think the best one in terms of price/quality ratio is the Gator ProGo (£145 at Rich Tone, but may be cheaper elsewhere). Build quality is top notch and it's quite light. But I agree with Lozz: while they're a great idea in theory, in "real world" use they are actually quite cumbersome, and heavy to wear for any length of time.
  12. The new Little Marcus could be very interesting in this respect, as it has different EQ points EQ1 ULTRALOW: Level ±16 dB (Freq. 65Hz) LOW: Level ±16 dB (Freq. 180Hz) MID: Level ±16 dB (Freq. 500 Hz) HIGH MID: Level ±16 dB (Freq. 1.4 KHz) HIGH: Level ±16 dB (Freq. 3.8 KHz) EQ2 OLD SCHOOL: Variable LOW PASS From 20KHz to 200Hz MILLERIZER: 5-12 KHz BAND PASS Filter (Level 0 /+10 dB)
  13. The Markbass Traveller 123 cab is superb. It has power handling in spades, and the combination of 12" and 5" drivers plus a high quality tweeter means it's very articulate. It's compact too, albeit quite weighty.
  14. Projected RRP of £450 too. Could be very popular.
  15. Hopefully my combo or amp will sell and I can pick up one of these instead
  16. I like the look of the 1x10 combo too. Are there any pictures of the amp section yet? Pop that on top of my TRV123 and I'd be very happy.
  17. I play Franz basses, a Sirius DC 5 fretted and Sirius fretless 5, and also gig a Thomann (by Hora) slimline upright. As I double fretless and upright at virtually every gig I run them into a Bassbone OD, which then goes into my rig which is the fabulous Markbass CMD Super Combo K1, to which I add the matching Markbass TRV123 cab too when I want the full 1000 watts. I also have a Blackline 250 for backup. OBBM cables, Harvest straps, La Bella and Newtone strings, Mono bags complete the setup. This picture shows a pedalboard from last summer, but that's all been replaced by the simpler yet more versatile Bassbone.
  18. A cancelled meeting afforded me the chance to try out the new Ibanez semi-hollow basses.  Very nice, and great setup on the fretless.

I've just bought my first Ibanez having tried out a tribute kit build loosely based on the SR605 but with a simple passive 2HB configuration.  I liked the form and the neck.  It didn't take me long to realise that I wanted the real thing because the kit showed me some of the things I wanted in a bass that I hadn't been able to decide upon before.

Given the spare cash, would you have one now that you've tried the semi-acoustic?

Quite possibly, yes.  Probably the 4 string fretted, or the Artcore short scale, which was also fab.

It is encouraging to hear that from the owner of a Wal.
