  1. I have been looking for Mo Mark stuff for ages, as I fancy building something just for me. Really hard to find anything now, especially the power frames.
  2. I’d say yes, not Thomastik lowness, but certainly lower than most rw sets I’ve used.
  3. La Bella nylon flats are low tension, even the .60 set. Much lower than Chromes. The golds are similar in tone to the White Nylons (same outer, core is brass with the golds and steel with the whites), so they are the brightest of the nylon flats they make. I love them on fretted and fretless basses. Use nothing else.
  4. Picked up a lovely little Trace Acoustic TA30 yesterday.  Absolutely mint condition and perfect for domestic noodling :)

  5. Basses live in Mono Vertigo bags without the Tick add-on. I can keep charts, cables and tuners in the sleeve pocket. For gig bags I have two, both picked up very cheap in a Mono close out sale from their former UK distributor. Gig bag #1, which goes to all rehearsals and gigs, is actually a Mono Drum Pedal bag. Perfect for two straps, tuner and patch lead, ear plugs, tool kit, two power leads and two speakons. Gig bag #2 is a Mono Club, which is actually designed for pedalboards but is perfect for bigger gigs as I add into that all my other spare leads, two Hercules stands, two Markbass Mark Stands, and various other sundries. I like Mono
  6. Markbass LMK - discontinued. Tecamp Bonafide - discontinued. Another option is dual input, footswitchable unit, and are my preferred solution for the situation you describe. I used to use a Providence Dual Bass Station, but have recently swapped to a Radial Bassbone OD. I loved the clean headroom of the Providence, but the Bassbone is more versatile, especially as it can have one channel made very DB friendly with a switchable ultra hi impedance input for piezo pickup, and HPF on both channels. http://www.tonebone.com/pdfs/smartsheet-BassboneOD.pdf
  7. I was just thinking the same. I wonder if the 362mm width is just the case of the amp (i.e. without rack ears and hard case)?
  8. I sold a gig bag to Alan. A small, simple transaction, but he was a pleasure to deal. Thanks Alan
  9. So, should we work out who wants one and ask for a limited Basschat run at a discount?
  10. Fantastic. I suggested to Leszek a while back that putting it into a compact case was the way to go, and he has! Looking forward to hearing the full spec on this.
  11. I sold a set of strings to Adam. Smooth, simple sale and he was a pleasure to deal with.
  12. This is a very reluctant sale, and I really am in two minds over the sale as I absolutely love this combo. However, I've decided that I would prefer two of the Traveler 123 cabs and a separate high-powered head, so up it goes for sale. Mint condition. Very lightly gigged. Comes with a custom fitted cover by "Hot Covers". At 1000 watts with an extension cab (600 watts without), this is probably the most powerful combo ever made. It sounds fantastic and fills the room with crystal clear tone: really high fidelity with tons of headroom. Due to the heavy duty 12" driver in this, the combo weighs a decent 56.8lbs (25.7kg). That said, it's an easy one person lift given both the compact size and positioning of the side handles. New, these are around £1400 now. Bass Direct has an ex-demo one for £1100. I'm asking £900. If you want it posted I'll courier it in the original box and split insured shipping (£20 each) with you. NB: I have replaced the large Markbass badge with the much smaller one, which I think looks less "shouty", but I have a new spare if you want it put back on
  13. Picked this up from vmaxblues just before Christmas and it's a great little amp, but I now have my eye on something else. Stuart wasn't kidding when he said it was mint condition either, and hopefully he won't me using his pictures £180 posted without the new Markbass bag, or £225 with.
  14. I once had a bass, a hollowbody no less, delivered in a bin liner wrapped in a little bit of bubble wrap. Amazingly, it was in perfect condition but my heart missed a beat or two when it first arrived!
  15. I would think it unlikely, but why not get a tape measure out and see where a 38" length would take you on the headstock?
  16. You can get through-body La Bella steel flats, but their nylons have a softer core and are fine for through-body stringing.
  17. GHS Precision Flats are very nice: good tension (i.e. not too high but not too floppy) and smooth to the touch (I find some flats feel a bit rough). La Bella steel flats are available in lots of gauges and are always a good choice, but don't forget their nylon strings too. They come in four different types (black = darkest, white = brightest) and they are super smooth and a really nice tension. The standard gauge set sound huge, but they are very pliable.
