1. I like GHS Precision Flats - a good core tone and nice tension. Pyramids seems to twist easily - re-seat the string a couple of times to make sure there's no twisting. La Bella - give white/copper/gold nylons a try, as they have lovely low tension yet retain that flat character. They can also be quite bright, depending on the flavour you choose. Chromes were far too tight and bright for me.
2.
These would get my recommendation, Mono M80, Mono Vertigo, Protec Contego & Protection Racket 7051.
I agree with these. Would also add Gator ProGo to the list too.
3. Brian is an excellent guy to deal with, and this amp is the shizzle. It would also make a very nice pairing with the two 4 ohm Tecamp 1x15s I'm selling
4. Would you mind measuring the strings for me, from ball end to silk?
5. I assume you've checked that the trim pot inside the bass isn't set too high? Assuming it isn't, then you'll probably need a new bridge from Dino at BSX in the US
6. Have you actually tried La Bella white nylon flats? Plenty of brightness from them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNdiB2gAUSA Tony Franklin uses DR Sunbeams btw.
7. Superb, transparent 3 band EQ, very popular for double bass. This unit is brand new. Link to main BC advert here

9. I bought this last week, and while it's very nice I have decided to go with a floor based preamp for my upright. It's a simple 3 band EQ with volume control. Perfect for attaching to your bass for quick and easy changes. Very good for any acoustic instrument, apparently. Absolutely mint condition. £100 new, I'd like £80 posted.
10. It's one of the best looking amps I've seen.
11. Love 'em. I had this Fylde for a while, which was a lovely thing. Sold it to fund a bass
12. My Franz fretless. I have owned so many fretless basses, searching for "the one", but this is truly it
13. Brian and I have just concluded yet another transaction, him buying his old Tecamp Bonafide and Puma 300 amps back from me, plus a Tecamp Dream Buzz Deluxe pedal to boot. As always, a total pleasure to deal with: prompt payment and excellent comms typify how he always works. He's a Basschat legend
14. Has anyone found out from Mesa which frequencies the "deep" switch is working on?
15. Very nice. I've always been curious to try a Glock (amp, not gun)
16. What is the length from the ball end to just past the nut Nick? This will help.
17. Looks like I'm going to have to dip, as now gigging in darkest Somerset. Sorry guys, have a good one!
18. Only a month out!
19. I'd contact Sandberg direct. They are very good on customer service. Delano pickups have been standard in the Sandberg range for a long time, so no reason to assume they are a retro-fit.
20. This looks great. I was born in '66 and have always fancied a YOB bass.
21. Morning This might help: Thomastik-Infeld Bass String Winding Length: Short Scale = 35.5" Ball to Silk Long Scale = 37" Ball to Silk Super Long Scale = 39.75" Ball to Silk Cheers Gareth
22. Yes, they can definitely sound different.
23. ECC81 should be for the compressor, which is V2, all the others should be ECC83.
24.
Only selling as I just accidentally bought another fretless here
Nice looking bass at a keen price.
