[/quote] Another very happy Carvin user, and having had the chance to use the Orange Terror a few times at jam nights I can honestly say I'd rate the Carvin way above it.

I play fretless for 90% of what I do and own neither chorus or reverb. Got a nice overdrive for a couple of songs though!

Can't find an absolute definitive answer, but it looks like Airline might be a possibility. Company was in operation from 58, and I can see basses online from 62 (also one circa 1960).

Sounds to me that you need to look at Led Zeppelin's more blues influenced stuff, Since I've Been Loving You, Levee Breaks, I Can't Quit You Baby - as already said, a lot of it is just taking the old standards (I Can't Quit You Baby) and making your own heavy interpretation of them.

Best one yet, the Duke of Wellington, Shoreham by Sea - pub owned by Dark Star Brewery, so full of people who love great beer and music. Really enthusiastic crowd, and the band played brilliantly. Really pleased, as with all bands, we've had a few bumps along the way, but are now really getting it together.

Shuker 5 String Fretless P Bass - I wanted a traditional shape P bass but love playing 5 string (like using low d and c quite a bit in my band), and fretless as I started, 40 years ago on double bass, so I feel at home with it. US Kit built seafoam green P Bass - bought as a fun project, couldn't sell it for less than I bought the parts for so started to use it, and it makes a real difference to a half dozen songs in the band's set. Carvin BX500 - absolute bargain of a US built amp that punches way above its price tag. Fender Rumble VIII 112 cabs x 2 - Cheap as chips, sound great, and two, well just because! MXR 80 DI+ - Discovered the joys of just a tiny bit of grit, and also is a standby DI. Guitars: Guild S90 - Had this for close to 40 years, lovely guitar and my first real one, so never going to part with this. Gordon Smith GS1 - Great workhorse guitar (like a Les Paul Junior) I picked up in a trade on here. Only thing I have that is surplus to requirements, but keeping in case my daughter wants to start again. Cort acoustic - Would have said a couple of weeks ago that this is surplus to requirements, but two weeks ago I used it to write my first ever song!

We have seen loads of music pubs close for various, often spurious reasons of late, but this one really is too big not to take notice of; The Half Moon, Herne Hill is being taken over by Fullers, in a deal with the landlords, the Dulwich Estate, a charity that owns the three local public schools and a lot of other local property. There is a campaign to get it re-opened as a music pub, but Fullers have announced they will be opening it as a gastro pub with children's area (gastro pubs are not exactly thin on the ground in the Half Moon's vicinity).. If this iconic venue can get trampled over in this manner I don't see much hope for any others, so please, if like me you care about these sorts of things please give the campaign some support via Facebook [url="https://www.facebook.com/groups/savethehalfmoon/?fref=ts"]https://www.facebook.com/groups/savethehalfmoon/?fref=ts[/url] or Twitter.
