1.
We do a rocked up version of ABBAs " Does your mother know", usually gets the ladies moving!!!
Always thought that was quite Glam Rock to start with.
 2.
My band Illegal Tender has a lot of odd stuff included in the set list. The one that *never* fails to get people dancing/clapping etc is Steve Earle's 'Copperhead Road'. A country classic that I would think 99% of punters would have never heard before. Very strange.
Yes, this one always helped mid set to take off if things were a little slow.
 3. OK, a couple of editorial decisions, and tried to keep it down to one or two per poster. Hopefully some food for thought for those that want to break away from Moondance, Sex on Fire or Alright Now! 1. 4.
For me it's not about the "off the beaten track" songs but the massive hits and very popular songs of the last 35 years which are totally ignored. I can't think of any right now. I'm stoned on painkillers.
Yes, even not on Tramadol, it wasn't the best thread title, just a response to the Groundhog thread. Been on Tramadol once - weird, very, very weird!!
 5.
Have you heard the Show Of Hands version? It's gorgeous.
Like that - thanks for sharing.
 6.
The theme from Knight Rider

The theme from Starsky and Hutch.
With the risk of getting a bit esoteric here, they're going on the list!
 7.
That was my general drift. Boys of Summer has and continues to be hammered since birth. You couldn't pay me enough to play it. Hey Ya is an easy set filler for those who want to stick something post 2000 in. Sick of hearing it. VKTRS is a bit out there, but I play in an 80's band and I go and see 80's bands and it's a given that it will be played.
Amazing isn't it, I don't think I've heard Boys of Summer, will take your point on Hey Ya though, you're right, it is a bit of a reluctant nod to modernism!!
 8.
I played with them last year and they were so good I bought the album. I found it disappointing, lacking the energy of the live band. I think it might have been a different bunch of musicians in the studio
Yes, definitely a live act. Like the albums, but they are in another league live IMO. Where did you play with them?
 9.
I think you could make a similar argument for these three.
Do you really think these have been done to death by pub bands?
 10.
We do Malt & Barley Blues by Mc Flint and I am pushing to get When I'm Dead and Gone into the set
We used to stick an acapella bit in, would get a good singalong response from the right crowd.
 11. Even across a wide range of styles this shows that you can get some variety in the set - Sorry Allighat0r, but even a different version, Superstition doesn't belong on here 1. 12.
Lady Elenore by Lindisfarne and How Come by Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance. These are always well received. We play these in my three piece acoustic folk-rock/americana band. I would have to acknowledge that we do tend to play to an audience of a certain age. Rod's Mandolin Wind is another one.
My last band used to do How Come, along with McGuiness Flint's When I'm Dead and Gone (save the singer swapping from guitar to mandolin too often)!
 13. Off The beaten Track Covers- add to this list folks: 1. Drift Away Dobie Gray 2. In A Broken Dream Thunder/Python Lee Jackson 3. You Make My Dreams Come True Hall & Oates 4. Squeezebox The Who
 14. Posted about Moulettes on here before, stunning live band.
 15. Ok, following up on the Groundhog day thread, how about a list of songs that get that "I haven't heard that in ages" response? My starter 1 Drift Away, Dobie Gray
 16. Always tried to offer something different, but it seems there are large numbers of punters out there that want the same old same old. You only need to hear a Radio 2 request show to have this confirmed.
 17. Relisted with an even nicer start price. That could be a cracking bargain (although, as seen here, resale values are not great).
 18.
Yes that helps a lot thank you. So I should get myself an old ah1000 .... Next question .... Does anyone have one for sale?
Try Thornybank on here - he seems to have a regular supply of Trace goodies, and is a nice guy to do business with too!
 19. Well what I was after has gone, but price stays ridiculously low, can go towards the double bass fund!
 20.
Well I bought the project for the bridge alone which was needed for my own project - the rest I intended to sell on. There wasn't a grand plan in this but a quick turnover to get my money back and making a few quid to pay off eBay fees is always a bonus. I don't see the issue here.
Fair enough, I just felt it was a shame that something as rare as this gets split up, and I know the pickups weren't the original but you've amde it a lot harder for the next person to put it all back together. Guess I should stop caring so much
 21. Of course, we should try and get Bootsy666 along with this: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/259954-custom-8x15-bass-cabinet/page__pid__2823274__st__240#entry2823274
 22. I was watching this as well but did think it odd that you didn't offer it all together as you had bought it, which of course is your prerogative, but certainly put me off bidding. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hayman-40-40-bass-guitar-Project-/161726008652?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item25a79f0d4c
 23.
I suspect you'd only need to keep an eye on any puddles near your place, they'll ripple when it's being used - even if you don't hear it immediately.
True, and you only need to watch out for the waves coming your way along the coast!!
 24. Strange that they don't see fit to give more technical information - speaker sensitivity, SPL etc, but go heavily on features like the speaker placement and innovative carrying design (perhaps they saw the posts on here about another well loved manufacturer's handles)
 25. Here's a link to a combo version of the Yamaha - don't quite know what he's getting at about the extra 4x12 cab, and I wouldn't go for the combo as it was early class d, pretty much unrepairable if it goes wrong, but at least you can see the cab. They have cropped up on here every now and again.
