Well done Old Ben - a terrific month for compositions - thought it may have been even tighter in the voting.
Vibe, man. That album sounds great! It's got all the little niggles and background noises that give classic recordings a great feel. There's quite a few occasions where things sound a bit 'laid-back'! Truckstop
I'll have to start using these terms when my pitching is out Don't get me wrong, I love the band, and am not one for over produced, highly polished work, it's just that particular bit really grated on me hence wondering if it was my ears!
It's not out of tune - it merely has a vibe.
Mojo perhaps?

Is the guitar in this track (particularly at 0:16) out of tune or is my hearing having the night off? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4MSGKdI-Gc

I vote every month - really doesn't take that long, as I'm sure most people can work out in just a few bars if a track is going to work for them or not. Every month I find at least one track that I genuinely like, this month there were four that I thought were great (and all very different from each other). Only negative - I don't like the photo concept, and a few times tracks I felt were musically weak won (or at least got votes) due to being closely linked to the picture at the expense of far better compositions. Constructive suggestion - as the time thing seems to be an issue, is there a way a dedicated Soundcloud page could be put up with all the tracks in one place, rather than going back to each individual link? Keep up the excellent work Skol303 and all the participants! Mike

Just sold my Yamaha RBX4 to Benebass - great communication and quick payment, pleasure to do business with. Mike
Check out Ed Friedland, the bass whisperer, on YouTube. He does sensible and relevant product demos and reviews.
+1 And Dan Veall (Dood on here) is also very good at giving proper gear demos.
, but it's major third A#, is nasty. How can the two go together?!
Think of it as Bb - much more mellow, well grounded sort of note!

I'd be sorely tempted to throw Kooks in to the set. -
I just had a really good gig at celtic connections with Shooglenifty and the Dohl drummers from Rajasthan. A good recording by the BBC on iplayer http://www.bbc.co.uk...onnections-2015
Watching now - love it!
The Talman looks awesome!!! EDIT: finishes! http://www.sweetwate...-talman-basses/
And at those prices what a brilliant starter bass!!

There are four of five tracks there all completely different from each other but all loudly vying for my vote - shame it won't be like this in May
Extract from Wikipedia (... and so not guaranteed accurate, but...) ...
Which, strictly speaking is a range extending generator which charges the electric motor - but yes, even BMW call it an engine so I'll shut up!
Not quite my friend. Putting a Bmw i8 engine, running gear, instrumentation, etc into a different car would be a better analogy.
Pedant alert - the i8 doesn't have an engine
is this definitely a medium scale? cant seem to find much info online
Absolutely - 32.5" and yes, very little info, reflecting how few were probably made - RBX4 A2M (here's an old link) http://www.gak.co.uk/en/yamaha-rbx4-a2m-jet-black/44878
Seems like Marcus has got a deal to create his own line authorised line of basses. Fretless all the way for me both in Dylan covers band and soulful blues band. There are a couple of songs where I sometimes think fretted might be better but a) I'm sure nobody in our audiences would ever notice and it's probably just GAS!

Picked up in a trade and I'm really not going to use it - an uncommon bass in an even less common 32.5" medium scale length. This is the very lightweight Yamaha RBX4 A2, complete with funky light up controls! In near immaculate condition - one tiny dink on upper back of the body. Cash sale or some pretty odd trades: Purple Chili PCB112NT cab All metal resonator guitar PA gear W.H.Y.
