About 6 years ago John Mayall (who is 80 this year) did the last of his every other year tour of the UK - 36 dates, no days off! A drummer mate of mine did 270 gigs last year (plus some studio work).

[/quote] Very much with you on this one BRX - yes, "worse things happen at sea" is the old adage, but yes, having your copyright infringed is something I would want to put right, especially as it does seem EBay's t&c's are on your side.

I went right off HMV years ago when it was reported that they made more money through their marketing department charging record labels to stock their records through in store displays etc than they made by selling records. At that point they stopped "selling" records and just stocked them letting the labels do the selling. One of the worst examples was the way they sold advertising space in Q, Mojo etc, charging more than we could have bought the same ad for on the promise of stocking the album. To add insult to injury they wouldn't place the order (which you had paid to advertise) until last minute and sometimes the order would be pitiful, leaving you paying something like a fiver per record shipped!

I used to be an ESP stockist when I had a guitar shop and I always found their cheaper range (the 200 series) some of the best guitars in that price range, a little bit different in design and very well manufactured. Funnily enough it was upper models of the LTD range (400 mainly) that I had some issues with, but this one should be a fabulous bass. Looking forward to a review and pics!!

It was the 30th Anniversary model of the 2000, stunning sunburst, oh stop, I'm starting to miss it!!

They are exceptional guitars, very full on, huge sound and Luke's one is great value for money IMHO (and I have absolutely nothing to do with it)! In true relay form, if you can't get someone to do it direct, if anyone can do London to Brighton (I'm just a bit inland) I can then get it to Chichester which is getting close! Would love to see this work - would get involved but have forgotten how to play 4 stringers

Don't forget to try something with P90's while your at it.

Part of this whole idea strikes me as a little macabre as obviously I wouldn't want to go through what he went through later in life, but would have loved to have spent a few moments in Ronnie Lane's shoes - something about the Faces for me, they just sound like they're having fun and playing like a band should play.

Lovely instruments - their Strats are far superior to any Fender I've ever tried. As for the basses, I only had a quick try of the B1 which is the current cheaper version, I think yours has been replaced by the B2. They do seem to have a thing about see through purple - perhaps it's a Swiss thing! Great second hand buy, as with all these lessr known brands, they don't hold their value as they don't have a recognisable name on the headstock. Congrats on getting such a nice bass!

Not going to set my sights to the very high level Charic has set, but I am determined to play enough bass between rehearsals/gigs that I don't suffer from lack of callouses and end up with serious right hand blisters if we do two nights on the trot! That and a few vocal lessons.

Price up your favourite Warmoth body and neck and that should leave you and said luthier with a fair bit to play with.

[/quote] About 6 years ago - a luthier I know had one in to do some set up work on (fabulous guitar) but was quite schocked when he took the neck off to see Warmoth stamps on both neck and body.

Mian advantage to the Fender is that it will hold its value better than the Suhr - far more popular brand that everyone has heard of. If on the other hand, moving the bass on is not a consideration then Suhr's are excellent, although I have seen one of them put together with Warmoth parts. May work out cheaper/better to look at another luthier build.
