  1. Ooh, good one. I'm currently trying to laminate them the other way to make an outdoor table top to go on a mangle I've had knocking about for ages.
  2. Ouch! There are so many different grains in what I have. Bought the crate load for £10 from a local wood recycler.
  3. Two years later would work a bit better for the second one.
  4. Ok, it was one year out but saw BA56 DUB today on a Tesla. Anyone here ( @reggaebass )?
  5. One for the marvellous wood experts on here - I've bought some hardwood blocks for a (non bass - way too heavy) project. Lovely African hardwood thought to be either Camelthorp or Mapone, neither of which I am familiar with. Any ideas please?
  6. Saw the Blockheads when they released the unfinished album. Phil Jupitus came on to sing the classics. It was lovely to see that he was absolutely terrified! As the evening progressed it was obvious that alcohol was helping his nerves, if not his performance!
  7. I really like the look of that 'aggressive' contour.
  8. Listening to Steve Lamaq's Round Table today - lovely bit of 21st Century disco from Alison Goldfrapp:
  9. Good to hear. They were always fantastic when I had a shop that stocked their amps. Still family owned.
  10. Since my post I've been trying to think of some truly underrated artists and have failed. It is a bit of a strange concept. @YouMayes, they are a great band, and the world of music has been enriched by them (before we hijack this thread)!
  11. Writing credit is Young, and it looks like that is Desi Roots surname, so very probably an original. Nice songwriter!
  12. 30 million album sales and near universal critical acclaim (especially for the early years) is NOT underrated.
  13. Great band. Native New Yorker is one of my all time favourites. It does help when you pick songs by this legend: And if you don't know it, Richie Havens' cover is pretty cool:
  14. Alexandra Burke's version of Hallelujah. Rips all the fragility from the song and turns it into a big, belting power ballad. Someone obviously didn't care for music...
  15. Totally trashed = let his true feelings slip out.
  16. Will give that a watch later. Loved Dave Grusin back in the day.
  17. I think they call this 'pushing at an open door' Bloomin' lovely track.
  18. Sorry, not going through all 47 pages to check if this has been posted before. Heard it yesterday on my local Tesco in store radio - they play some great stuff. Anyway, a classic mellow groove from Billy Paul.
  19. Ooh, now there's a good call (and a cracking disco track to boot).
