  1. One of the biggest bands of that period for international sales was RHCP, and there is no doubt that Flea had a huge impact on bass at the time. So whatever his main bass was - Modulus?
  2. Of course, I'm forgetting Gary is putting his bass back through the headphones. Schoolboy error here (I always play unplugged so was only considering the signal from the music source).
  3. Question @ped @PaulThePlug why does lag/latency matter when using headphones for practice? Surely the delay isn't critical In this application, unlike when playing along with others?
  4. Whoops, thanks @PaulThePlug- shows how out of touch with popular culture I am (and the person who posted the likeness on Twitter earlier today)!!
  5. Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson heavily borrowed his stage act from this gentleman:
  6. I'll see if I can put them on tomorrow - been getting used to the new bass with the strings that were already on it.
  7. He might not thank me for this, but our own @Andyjr1515 has done some intricate inlay work if you feel it needs to be removed.
  8. Or Newtone who get a lot of love on here. Will do custom sets at sensible prices.

  10. Saw Depeche Mode at Hammersmith Odeon 1984 or 85. Two of them had buckets on stage. Wasn't a very good gig, but I'm not sure if that was down to them being ill or being Depeche Mode...
  11. The very sad news about Wilko Johnson brought this thread back to mind. For pub bands I'd say he is a much better benchmark rhythm guitarist than Nile.
  12. OK, going to do this off the top of my head, as, like many others, it will change on an hourly basis: Mozart Grand Mass in Cm Donna Summer McArthur Park Duke Ellington Take the A Train Working Week Inner City Blues Bob Marley No Woman No Cry Dust Springfield Just a Little Loving Ray Charles Georgia on my Mind Aretha Franklin I Never Loved a Man Book is a tough one, as I've only ever re-read one book. I'll go for Khaled Hosseini A Thousand Splendid Suns Luxury item a camera.
  13. The most amazing thing is 1900+ feedback, 100% positive 🤨
  14. Was actually very surprised as to how successful they were when I had a look before leaping to their defence.
  15. And while we are on melancholia, can an artist's cover of their own song be included? I love the original, and the fact that it sounds bright and jolly despite the lyrics, but this I think is an incredible remake.
  16. My favourite of his covers from that period although most go for his version of Hurt.
  17. 90 million albums sold worldwide, September over a billion streams on Spotify. Yes, they really need to lose those falsettos 😎
  18. Quite liked the original version of this (Thom Yorke's side project) but Dennis Bovell has really moved it up to another level. Not the most Reggae of offerings on here, but it is Bovell and I like it!
  19. Part of the problem could be in the name they give themselves - lead guitarist.
  20. Do love my 2 1x12s, although very different on style to yours (quite coloured I'd imagine - Purple Chili). I have found that acoustic guitar through bass amp/speakers sounds way better than through an electric guitar amp, even without the near PA quality of your speakers.
  21. I just came on here to recommend our very own @Bart Funk Bass. He posts some great bass lines - often quite repetitive patterns that are easy to get your head and fingers around. All very clearly presented, well worth a visit.
  22. Saw these guys at the Cricketers many years ago. Nice, more recent clip showing that Jim still has his chops:
